BLT question. 7 mo out....

Does anyone remember when reports for no-availability started coming in for BLT rooms? I admit I wasn't paying attention this past March when I should have been to get somewhat of an idea of what I might be facing next March when I try to move my AKV ressies (I have yet to make for Oct next year) to BLT. Not that it matters so much to my question but we'll be looking into a 1 BR.
Sorry to annoy w/ one of "those" types of questions. At least I'm not asking anyone to tell me what my chances are! Crystal ball anyone? What ever will be will be. I just wondered because now DH tells me I should have been driving the DVC "bus" and chosen the resort I wanted most and not what I thought my family wanted. What. I was supposed to be selfish?

At least I do see that 7 months out from now, there doesn't seem to be much trouble, yet.

I was able to book a BLT Lake view 2-Bdrm for July 6th-10th, 2011 in May 2011. On August 1st, 2011 I booked a BLT Lake view Studio for Sept. 6th-8th 2011. Hopefully it will continue like this!

March is Spring Break season, and BLT is notorious for being impossible to get during busy times. I have tried 3 times now over last couple years(Summer, Spring Break, and 1st wk Dec.) and they had nothing... nada... no studio, 1br, even 2 br. And I stayed up all night just to make sure I called in the first few minutes of the 7 month window. You may get lucky, but just be prepared if it doesn't happen for you.

And always get on waiting list... I was on 2 different ones for my upcoming NOv trip and I got them both! Maybe I should have left BLT on my wait list instead of BCV, and who knows I might have gotten in!

If you plan on getting a LV you have a good chance at the 7 month window outside of December. It seems to be one that if you wait an extra week or two you might not get it though. If you want standard you would need to own it and while MKV is unlikely there are reports of availability at 7 months.

We stayed at BLT in a 1-br lakeview this past July 2- 9. We reserved at the seven month mark.

Not always but for the most part if you try and book at 7 mos (not necessarily including holidays) you should be able to get a Lake View but I'd not count on other views.

go with what your DH says - and don't waste points on a place you don't like. especially since it can be a pain to get reservations at.

standard view probably won't happen.
