BLT pros/cons...... go!

If you stay at BLT, you can do the short walk (5 min) over to the Contemporary to use the pool. Rarely crowded (at least when we go!), and gets afternoon sun. I agree the BLT pool seems to be getting more and more crowded each year we go - it's just too small. We don't bother any more and just head over to the Contemporary.

Just like PP, I love the smell of the BLT lobby. Heavenly!

We are huge BLT fans and do not think there are any cons. The busses run more efficiently at this resort that at any other we have been to. There is always a cast member at the stop and we have had them switch the bus route if more people were headed somewhere and waiting.
Walking to MK is the major draw here. The QS in the Contemporary is a short walk and offers great options. The pool is exceptional. We are planning a two bed next Christmas we are so desperate to go back

IMO the theme issue isn't that it doesn't have a theme, it's just that many like the themes at other resorts more, my family included.

CM's at BLT are friendlier than the CM's at the Contemporary front desk IMO. Might be that they are overworked or that they have to deal with convention guests. It's better now compared to when BLT first opened, back then we felt like they really didn't like DVC members. They didn't know anything about BLT, they didn't know how the rooms were numbered and our bellman took our ice bucket to get us ice and never returned.

The main reason I'd pick BLT over another monorail resort is because of being able to walk to MK. When we've stayed there we walk over to the MK just about all the time.

We love BLT and we thought we would hate it before we stayed there.

Pros:
Walk to MK
Two pools very close together
The studio room while smaller has a better layout for us. We like the galley style kitchenette.
2 nightstands in the studios even though they are small
Parking is relatively easy compared to some other resorts, i.e. BWV.
The monorail, even though we usually drive to Epcot.
TOWL-not a replacement for Wishes but a great way to see Hallowishes, etc if you are not going to the parties

Cons:
Not enough places to hang towels in the bathroom.

We have found the CM to be very friendly in the BLT lobby. Almost too friendly for our Northeast way of life. :)

My pros: That awesome proximity to the MK! And the extra bathroom in the 1 bdrms or larger.
My biggest con, but it is one that I have not personally experienced since I have never actually stayed in this resort: housekeeping horror stories. I have heard some hair-raising ones from fellow members. (I think that pun was intended! :rolleyes1)

In 6-7 stays there we've only ever had one issue - we had a standard 2BR, second floor, facing the loop in front of the building. On December 26, they power-washed the sidewalk below our room at 7am. We'd been out for EMH until 2am and definitely did not appreciate the noise. Obviously this wouldn't be a problem with a LV room, but just sayin"...
