BLT Price Increase?

When I started I could book my family on a 7 night cruise for 840. I just booked a five night on the Dream for 1,419 points. Out of site:scared1:

We actually had found our experience with booking cruises to be the opposite. We were going to book a 5 nighter on the Wonder in 2010 but found that the 2011 cruises on the Dream "cost" less points. We were thrilled. :goodvibes

I just received my membership number and papers are enroute, though looks like I need to get activation code post closing before entering site. Glad to know this information will be there as well.

Thanks for posting these. At first glance, I'd probably not use my shiney new first purchase of 160 points here, though probably will use some of the '09 points off WDW site at Disneyland. We've done the Magic and Wonder and I know we'll want to plan on the Dream ASAP, just looks, again first glance, like might be more efficient to pay cash...unless of course we hear in weeks ahead they are going to offer a special DVC deal.

I just got back from BLT and the room is absolutely fantastic!! I bought at BLT for the location, but the room blew me away-- it was so huge (1 bedroom) and the 2nd bath was great!! The location was great but the room was heaven. I especially liked that the kids could sleep in there own beds (chair sleeper/coach sleeper). Another nice thing was it seem smaller and not so spread out like the BW so getting to the monorail was really easy.

IMHO, I think DVC should sell BLT for more money over SSR and AKV just due to the location. Everyone I talked to while I was there absolutely loved it and said they wanted to stay there all the time (NOT Happening when the resort is fully sold out, unless you own there). I absolutely love my BWV but the BLT is amazing!!!

When I checked in on Feb 8th the resort was 100% full, although there was a special radio station event going on to promote the give a day, get a day. But a lot of people are very impressed with it.

BLT is a great place to add on or purchase new and IMHO is worth the higher price tag.

I guess its so high because it includes all your food right?
I know this is how some justify the high "cost" when using points to cruise. Generally, points have a $10 per point "value". If you use that as a guideline...it's not a very good deal.

We were just at WDW and went to a DVC presentation for $100 gift card.
We are very interested in buying. I think resale is the way to go. AKV is much cheaper but I really like BLT. Should I buy the cheaper one and stay at BLT or just buy BLT??

We want the one bedroom with the sleeper couch and chair so our kids don't have to share a bed. Any other resorts have that??
Thanks for any help.

AKV and BLT, currently, are the only resorts at WDW with 1 bedrooms with the sleeper chair (and some of the 1 bedrooms at AKV (value) don't). I believe there is a rumor that OKW will be getting them at some point.

If you really want to stay at BLT, then that is where I would buy. While you can trade out at 7 months, and people have had good luck with this, it may be more difficult when the resort is sold out.

And, if you can't get what you want at BLT, will you be okay with AKV for the trip? If it doesn't really matter, then you might consider other options.

We bought BLT, even though it was more, because that is where we want to stay unless it is our choice to move elsewhere. We are trying BCV this summer for a few nights, but I did book everything at BLT at 11 months and was glad. Had BCV not been available at 7, that would have been okay.

I just think that DVC is a big investment and to save a few thousand only to find out later that you are having a hard time getting what you want is a mistake.

Good luck!

What current incentives did they offer for BLT?
