We are going on a DCL cruise at the end if January, and will be flying down from North two days early (in case of bad weather). Since we have never stayed at BLT or VGF, and being that it will be the adventure season, I think it would be great time to try one of them out. What would you pick if you are me? We will still have the PAP so we will be spending the day in the parks. The cruise will be on Saturday.

The Grand Floridian is new so that is always nice. As far as the BLT vs. VGF I don't think there is much difference. I am sure a standard view at BLT is probably the least number of points so I don't know if you are trying to save points for not. My family and I decided to give VGF a try for two night when we go to runDisney in January. I just really like the idea of it being the newest resort at the flagship resort--it is special. Happy planning.

Yes we don't have hundreds of points like most people here do. We usually state at value room at AKV or OKE or standard room BWV. The only times we spend alot of points un ine trip is when we visit VGC, but that is like once every few years special occasions (and lack of any alternative). But since this coming trip will be just 2 nights that's why I think it is a great way to try the 2 without "break the bank". Which one do you think I will have a better chance to get a standard room?

I would try VGF. It is adventure season so lower points than other times of year & as it sells out, I think it will be harder to get in. The point difference between BLT & VGF is not too great when I was looking at the standard views. Enjoy your trip & cruise.

now love BLT - and it is great

that say GFV is new and the studio certain seem like they are alot bigger.

blt has tiny studio.

I don't think the living area is larger in VGF the bathroom is significantly bigger, the kitchenette area is smaller than most, and if you use all 5 beds there will be almost no walking around once the beds are ready for the night. The room you can't move through changes a bit- the pulldown bed is about 8-10 inches away from the end of the queen bed when pulled down which leaves everyone with problems going to the bathroom if anyone is actually sleeping in it.

They are?? I know VGF's studio can sleep 5. I guess it got to be bigger.

blt is strange - not the same setup as the other studios.

so instead of the kitchen being across from the bathroom area - it is next to it. so the living space is not that great.

the took space away from the studio and gave it to the 1-bedroom - which is a heck of alot bigger than the tiny studio.

now I still love it - but as a single - the space issue is not a big problem - at blt you do have places for your stuff.
