I watched the video of the Fantasy and can't wait to sail on that beautiful ship. Unfortunately, we have 2 cruises on the Dream and 2 on the Magic already booked, so it's going to be awhile until we have the time or money to sail on the Fantasy!

No mention was made of buying BLT points, but it was mentioned that other resorts were available. Since I'm not buying more points now, I didn't bother to call or find out which resorts they were talking about. Is BLT sold out?

I have another question. The 200 point new purchase offered by the video includes a family stateroom for 2 on January's Member Cruise. Do you think if someone new were to know about this, they could get it as part of their buy in?

For several months now, BLT has not been actively marketed or promoted by DVD to prospective new members. Instead, DVD has devoted its efforts on selling Aulani, AKV, and, until January 2012 or so, SSR.

Although BLT might be considered "sold out", it has still averaged over 30,000 points in monthly sales since July 2011. According to my unofficial figures, as of March 31, 2012, DVD has about 250,000 points that it can sell to the general public.

I don't think so. They made a point of saying these special offers were for us because we were already "valued DVC members".

Maybe they will have a similar promotion for new members, but I would think cabins are limited enough on the members cruise to prevent them from offering this particular promotion to the general public. IF they do it for someone who asks, word will get out very quickly, don't you think? ;) Previous free cruise promotions involved several different cruises, not just one.

I found it interesting that there was enough space to even make the offer to existing members. Could be why they held firm on not allowing resale contract owners to book the members' cruise, even on cash. Maybe they had this promoton in mind when they scheduled two member cruises and anticipated they would have space left after the initial member booking.

I'd expect that they held a few back for this very promotion. Seems like a good deal actually depending on the category.

I added the bold and color above because it made me laugh! I love how we think - "unfortunately I have four cruises booked." Of course I understand that you were saying it is unfortunate the you won't be booked on the Fantasy for some time, but the phrasing made me smile. I needed that today.

We just moved to Northwest Indiana, and we stopped by DTD at Woodfield Mall on our "exploratory" visit. When there, the guide mentioned that they were still selling BLT points, but they stopped offering the discounts to slow sales. Take that for what it is worth.

We are scheduled to watch the podcast tomorrow. I can't wait to see it.

Glad I made you smile, Disney Princess! I don't think we have ever had 4 cruises booked at any time in our lives before! DH is retiring next year & we have booked Disney's eastbound transatlantic and then the first Med cruise after that, so 2 in a row!:goodvibes

DH has called our guide, no response yet, regarding the new member question. Thanks for all feedback. I am not surprised that a January MC didn't sell out, but I surprised myself by booking it, so that's the 3 rd DCL cruise we have booked.

DH's retirement is worth celebrating, and it sounds like you have a wonderful celebration planned! That will be so relaxing for you both. I think it is great!

I think it is interesting the NEITHER MC is sold out. I've called MS twice in the last few weeks to change address, flights for ME, etc. Each time, the automated message says that both are still open. I wonder if offering two, not allowing resale purchasers, or some other factor or combination is causing this. I thought I'd read that in years past it sold out the first day. Shocks me that neither one has sold out.
