I checked on my waitlist this morning and found Annual Due's charges under my BLT contracts. They were only $25 each so I called MS and they said they had released the MF charges for BLT right after the AKV ones. Can anyone else confirm this with their accounts? and Does this sound right or do I now have mysterious fees showing up. Thanks

I just checked my account and I have nothing under my dues yet. However, my BLT contract is a separate member # than the first contract I have (different UY's) so I am not sure if this is why as I have trouble seeing any of the information on this contract easily.

I am going to call today to find out. I do know that you will only be billed for MF's for 5 months in 2009 if you have a UY that is Feb, March, April, June or Aug.

If you have a Sept UY, you will only pay for 4 months, Oct UY will only pay 3 months, and Dec UY will only pay 1 month. So, depending your UY, that could be the right fees for 2009.

Once I find out about my situation, I will post back!

Thanks, we have a DEc UY so it would make sense. But I would like someone else to be seeing these too before I get my hopes up that it is really only gonna cost me $50 for the year.:goodvibes

Can someone please confirm that if you own Dec UY at BLT you only have to pay MF for 1 month for 2009? I just bought that 25 point resale and the TSS was quoting me 12 months as my MF for 2009. My contract does state that I am responsible for the MF for 2009 and not a specific amount.

I purchased a 160 point add on at BLT and the member website has shown a balance due of $49.88 for a few months now. I have direct debit so I'm not really worried about paying it on time. I don't even know when it's due.:confused3

You will only be billed a prorated share for BLT for 2009. Once you close and are in the system, you will be able to call and verify it with member accounting.

My dues are still not showing up on the website but apparently, there is a glitch in my account (I have two different UY's and member #'s so it has something to do with that).

I confirmed with member accounting, though, that my BLT dues are not due until October (June UY) and they are indeed a prorated share.

We want to do an April UY addon. When would our MFs be due, and for how many mths?

I believe with an April UY, you would be prorated like mine. It appears that I am paying 4 months worth of fees. I am not sure when your fees would be due but it would not be until at least August or September.

I was told they are not being billed until after the resort opens and I would get a reminder about them then (I do not have direct debit set up).

Thank you everyone for such quick replies, especially Sandisw for all your clarification.

Well, if you do a lump sum maintenance fee payment, it's due in January of every year. The $49.88 sounds like what your maintenance fees should be if paid monthly and I bet that, come August when maintenance fees are due, DVC will begin debiting that amount, along with any loan payment, every month.

Crystal,
You are right that we will get billed our MF's in January. However, for 2009, at BLT, since the resort is not open yet, and Rob has a Dec UY, he will only be paying for one month (Dec) since he is not getting any points until that time. In 2010, his monthly payments will kick in and he will owe for the full year.

I was originally supposed to have an Oct UY for my BLT points and was told that I would owe only 3 months worth of fees, since I would not have use of those points until October. I was even told that I couldn't "borrow" them for stays when BLT opened in August since there was no 2008 UY for BLT for me to borrow into (and thus the reason I wouldn't owe MF's until then).

The $49.88 is indeed only one month (Dec) of dues. I think that I first noticed it on the member website in February, well after my "normal" dues were posted for my other contracts. I just don't know if they will start debiting me monthly is Septemer (when BLT was originally scheduled to open) or if they will just take it all in December. Either way, it's not a big enough amount for me to worry about.

I did borrow from my 2009 UY to book a stay at BLT this September.

My first DVC purchase was 160 points at BLT and first and only add on is 50 points @ VGC. I don't have any dues showing up at all (VGC hasn't closed so I understand that). I have an August Use Year- anyone have a guess when my dues (for either contract) might show up on the web? Anybody who is BLT only actually have their dues showing, are are only members who did BLT add-ons having dues show up so far?

I just got my paper work from the Title company about 2 hours ago and it shows 1 month MF due at closing and not the whole year. Thanks for help and sorry to OP for stealing time in your thread.

We bought 220 points at BLT and we don't have our MFs showing yet as due. However, we opted to pay ours in one lump sum in January so ours might not show up as due until then...

Feb use year. Picked installment plan for dues. Was told *several* times that dues will not start until the resort is open. So once it's open we'll start paying dues, since we have the Feb UY.

Nothing is showing on our account regarding dues.

I too have an August use year on my 100 point contract at BLT. I live in UK so have no choice but to pay my dues in a lump sum. I paid my dues for my AKV contract (160 points August use year) in February and now have a balance showing on the website of $122.70, which I assume is for BLT dues for the remainer of this year. I have had nothing by post at all. Do I need to pay these now? (the charges are dated 17 April) or do I pay them when the resort opens? :confused3
Thanks for any advice
Joanne

Joanne, if you are paying in one lump sum, the MFs are due in January of each year. If you bought 100 BLT points, your MFs for the year are $367. So, if you prorate that for September-December, that gets you to the $122.70 figure. I also am paying in one lump sum and I expect to be receiving the bill for MFs around December. We'll see if that comes to pass, though.
