BLT Matching Developer Points New Thread

I talked to my guide on Nov 7th about the DP and still don't have an answer. When I finally got ahold of him last Thursday he said he had sent his manager an e-mail on 11/7 and would let me know when he heard something. I was getting a little frustrated since everyone here seems to have a really good guide that gets things done and responds quickly so I called and talked to one of the Managers today (my guide is off on Mondays). She said she would tell him to put through the request to sent it to the review board and I should know by the end of the week or early next week because of the holiday. She said every request is looked at individually and normally incentives are not given if you have already closed. I feel like maybe I should get a different guide. ???

Any ideas why it seems that my request is taking so long?

I talked to my guide on Saturday. She spoke to her manager and called me back about two hours later. I did get the developer's points. I bought points the first day.

I sent my completed paper work off by FedEx on Friday (from UK) but was told by my guide that because the purchase was agreed before the new incentive, I shouldn't really be entitled to the DPs (I purchased a 100 point add on at BLT). He said that he would talk to his manager if 'I thought I could use them in the allocated timeframe'. I replied that I would be able to use them at Disneyland Paris but he said that they could only be used at Saratoga Springs. I had got the impression that they could be used for the Disney Collection. Am I right or is he? :confused3

Developer Points can only be used at SSR, Disneyland in Anaheim, or traded thru Interval International (II). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news:hug:

Man, I guess my guide couldn't have been bothered. I'm so using another one when I do my add on next month.

I know Bob. But I'm the idiot person who sent her a bouquet of flowers after my closing because she was so nice. I only had half my deposit and they let us still sign the papers. I just called her when I got home with the rest of the deposit... It just seemed so nice of her. You see where that got me right?

I still think you should talk to her manager, it wouldn't hurt anything. Sounds like your guide and mine had the same training  I won't use my guide again either.

I got my developer points.
When I called my guide said they already added my points and they are taking care of the previous purchasers one at a time.
I had my paper work started the beginning of October but I didn't sign until I was at WDW October 30:dance3: .

Thanks for the info
I guess us European DVCer's miss out. Unless you are super-rich and can afford to fly back and forth several times a year. I wish......

Wow. Don't know if you meant to but you just said a mouthful if you're saying what I interpret from that.

Are you saying that they are retro'ing EVERYBODY now with DPs even if they don't call and personally insist? If you are, that is indeed GREAT news! :cool1:

If I ever get my points I'm using them to go to CA to see friends for a short stay. There are several places in Europe you can use them on. A short local holiday is better than no holiday right?

I got my points! :) Well, I'm getting them within the next few days.

They're doing this on a reactive basis - if you ask for them, you'll more than likely get them. But they aren't offering it unasked.

I called and left a message for my guide telling her to please take this to her manager since I have the name of a couple of people that got the points after sign up. She's off for the next couple of days but will be back on Thanksgiving. Let's see what happens.

From what OUR :) guide said, they are only giving the deal to people who specifically ask for it. So I'd interpret what dzney2001 said to mean they are taking care of previous purchasers one at a time as they make the request.

I called today and my guide stated the same thing, if you call and ask DVC will give you the points . In fact, he stated that he was "not allowed" to call his clients and inform them. IMHO Disney is in no way obligated to extend this offer to those of us that jumped in early. The fact they are willing speaks to the type of company we all bought into. I don’t think requiring the owners to request the points diminishes this.

210 more points to play with this year!!!

I agree 100% as I stated in one of my prior posts (the day I got mine) earlier in this tread.
