I just called this morning and was able to reserve a Bay Lake view 2-bedroom dedicated villa at BLT during the 7 month window. We are arriving June 11, 2010. They even had a Magic Kingdom view room available but I didn't want to burn the additional points. All the standard view 2-bedrooms were taken.

Good for you! That's what we got, bay lake dedicated 2 bedroom for January 6 to 11th over Marathon weekend. We got it after a month on the waitlist!

Gratz thats awesome that you got in on the 7 month window in the summer!

This is great to see!
I will be trying for the exact same thing tomorrow morning for a June 12 stay. Hope we end up neighbors!

bblanch-Let me know how your reservations work out. If you will be visiting during the same time, we should say hello. We will have 9 on this trip!

I am a little surprised that there were MK view rooms available. Why haven't all the BLT owners snagged all the MK view rooms at the 11 month mark?

I would say most BLT owners are booking standard view rooms to save points. This is usually the case at BWV too. Before BLT came around, we stayed in the A-Frame at the Contemporary and usually had a Magic Kingdom view room. The park doesn't really look all that impressive from a distance. Sure, you can view the fireworks from your balcony but I would much rather watch them in the park.

ooops... forgot to report back.

We did get a dedicated 2BR Lake View from June 12-19 at the 7month window. They had both MK and LK view available but no SV. I called right after 9am on Nov. 12 and she said I was the 3rd one she had changing a reservation to BLT.

Based on the pictures I've seen of a MK view, I didn't think the extra points for a MK view were worth it. If we want to view the fireworks from our resort, we'll just go on up to the TOWL.

Chic, did you make a room request?

bblanch-I did make a room request for an even numbered room. These rooms have a larger living room and larger island in the kitchen because they are on the outward curve of the C-shape building. The walls in these living rooms bow out as you move from the entrance door to the glass windows, similar to a megaphone shape. The odd numbered rooms are on the inside of the C-shape and have a living room with parallel walls so they tend to be a little more narrow and less spacious. The kitchen island is also smaller and does not include the two bar stools for sitting. The odd numbered rooms do have a larger washroom area so it just depends on what is important to you. Awhile back I posted a thread here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2315568 which shows a photo and video illustrating the differences between odd number and even number rooms. Read post #2 for the links to see the photo and video. Congratulations on your reservation success. Keep in touch and we hope to see you all in June.

Since there are only about 42 Standard rooms, it would be reasonable that these rooms would book up quickly. I would think that those DVC members that did small add ons would snap these rooms up the quickest so they can make 50 - 75 points go farther.

Correct me if I'm wrong but part of the problem you encountered while booking was trying to reserve an entire week and there was not one standard room that was open the entire week. I could see that the weekends were open but the weekdays booked or variations where some days were booked but others were open.

Never the less congratulations on getting a room at the 7 month mark at BLT!

We just returned two days ago and had a BLT 2-BR Ded. LV.

We decided we would probably never use more points for a MK view. I agree that it's not such a big deal to see the castle from the distance. The lounge is great and you can view MK from up there as well as from the elevator areas. I did like the LV since we overlooked the pool, lake and marina.

I wonder what the standard views overlook?

Have a magical trip!

A lot of the standard view rooms are really Magic Kingdom views. These rooms face the park but are typically on floors 1, 2, 3, and 4. Since they are not elevated but a few feet, you can only see the top of Space Mountain and the top portion of the Castle. Your main view is the parking lot. A few of these rooms also face the Contemporary A-frame building.

I called this morning at 9:00 am for arrival on Sunday, June 13th. No STD or MK views available. I did get a dedicated 2-bedroom with a Lake View. :woohoo: Thank you for the above advice regarding the even number rooms. This will be 15 months between trips, our family was definitely going through withdrawal.

We stayed in a Lake View dedicated 2-bedroom villa at BLT during early October while the Food and Wine Festival was taking place. I booked it 3 months out!

Thanks Chic. That's exactly what I was looking for. Just added a High Floor and Even # room request.

I noticed no MK Views for the 13th. I imagine the Lake views will fly off the board now. Glad I called right at 7 months.

Does this also true with studios too? We are staying in a LV studio in April and we are a family of four. I have heard the studios are small, so if there is a chance of getting an even smaller one, I think I will try to put a request in for an even number. (if it matters)
