BLT internet problems?

IMO resort room Wi-Fi is below standards at all resorts. Problem is that each guest has at least one connected device, sometimes two. The existing contract and hardware didn't expect this kind of volume. Guests tend to use their devices in the rooms during certain times which really over loads the service.

Given they just switched over to WiFi in the rooms in 2011, there's no reason to not have planned appropriately. Everyone has a 1) PC 2) Phone 3) Tablet. That and there's multiple people in every room.

Many thanks for the responses. You have certainly helped to put my mind at rest a little bit. This is the first time for us staying at any DVC location. We normally just do GF or AKL when it is just the two of us, but this if our first visit with our twin 5 year olds. BLT just seems to make so much sense for us now - extra room with a 1 bed suite, kitchen area, laundry, second bath, walk to MK etc. Must admit that we are little apprehensive going to a DVC resort like this when we have never stayed at the main hotel either. I am sure it will all be great, but thanks for answering my question. Appreciate it.

We have learned not to expect a good connection at any WDW resort. With all of the guests streaming video and using their devices, the quality and speed changes even at 3 in the morning.

Disneynutz' experience is very different from ours...we go 3-4 times/year and have been to every WDW DVC resort (except Poly, and that's coming next month) and the only resort we've experienced bad Internet access in is BLT. We use the Internet a lot while at WDW...both DS and I have work to do while we're there, and we both "look around the Internet" a lot in our down time, even when we're not working. We use laptops and cell phones, and DS streams, too (I don't). I'm a super early riser (usually by around 4 a.m.) and he stays up super late (rarely does he go to bed before 1 or 2 a.m.). And when we're in our villa, one or both of us is almost always on one of our devices.

Just got back 10 days ago from 12 nights of stays at OKW (me and DS in a separate room), SSR (DS), VWL (DS) and VGF (me) and all had perfectly fine Internet--no issues at all for any of us at any time of day or night on any of our devices. Trip before this last one in March we had great Internet at first AKV and then BCV...only at BLT has it been a problem. So I too would be very interested in reading whether the problems persist at BLT...I like BLT and would like to stay there again, but won't until/unless I get a sense that Internet access won't be a problem...thanks!

Maybe people should be writing to DVC member satisfaction regarding their internet problems. Personally for us BLT has been no different than any of the other DVC resorts and we usually travel with 2 lap tops, an iPad and our phones. I often will upload photos to Photobucket which is can be a chore at all the resorts. I have found if we are on the internet when a lot of families are in their rooms it makes it really hard to maintain good connections. I expect that DVC did not think ahead about streaming and how likely people were to embrace it.

I don't know where the post is but the report was they finally figured out the issue and fixed it. We were there in October which was after the report that things were fixed and our internet was fine.

But the question was about BLT which was having major issues last year. However, I had no issues at BWV in Feb either nor BCV in Dec.

this past Sept, we didn't have internet problems while in BLT. We were in a ground floor 1 BD not too far from the lobby. 4 of our phones, 2 laptops & 1 ipad worked fine whenever we needed them. Some areas in the parks were spotty, but BLT was fine.
