BLT Hostility

Ok, first off let me preface this with the fact that I'm starting to find this thread really tedious so it will be my last post on it, but the whole "I'm in a very precarious position" comment was just so wacky, I had to post.

A "precarious position" is sitting on a chair on the edge of a cliff in a high wind. Owning DVC is a benefit we enjoy from years of hard work.

I have no intention of selling when I am satisfied with the current product that Disney and I have an agreement on. If that satisfaction decreases, then I will re-evaluate as necessary. The whole "sky is falling" tone of your posts is beyond annoying.

If you like DVC, keep it. If it no longer works for you, dump it. It's that simple.
If it works for you great, enjoy it. Please don't take my post as the sky is falling, only as a statement of the realities of ownership. However, if something as simply as PH will move one from DVC working for them to DVC not working for them, better they fall off the chair now.

Really doesn't seem to correspond with

We never pool hop, but I'm not willing to give up that perk (hey, I paid for it, even if I don't use it) unless they offer a comparative perk that I do find useful.

That is at least what I was originally responding to. That you "paid", your word not mine, for the perk. And what Dean (not trying to put words in your mouth/posts) and I have been saying has been 100% consistent, saying if you consider pool hopping even part of what you paid for in anyway you are mistaken. You paid for fractional interest in resort.

As I said in a prior post, I really think people put weight on all sort of extraneous things, like perks and RCI/II exchanges. Those things while nice and useful, can't factor into your purchase because they aren't part of the purchase.

I agree, if we are going to pay different dues, then don't book my beach club. I'll give up vero.

I'm going to bite my tounge on a lot of what I want to say, but the pure ignorance being spewed is just utterly ridiculous. Unfortunately, the very choice words I'd like to say right now would probably get me in trouble with the moderators...

What I will say is this...

1) You bought in to BCV KNOWING you have 4 months exclusivity to book. You bought in knowing that you can trade to any Disney resort.

2) I've NEVER had a problem booking BCV at 7 months... in fact, I usually have a tougher time with BWV than BCV. If you own there, then you should have very few issues getting a room, unless your lazy and sit on your butt and don't book within your exclusive booking window. If you are lazy and can't take the few minutes to book the resort, then I have no sympathy for you and the pure selfishness of your words are just plain ridiculous.

3) Your comparing the maintenance fees at BCV with VERO????? Vero has the highest fees of any DVC resort!!! In fact BCV is only the 5th highest, after VB, HH, BWV, and VWL.

4) If you don't like it and all you guys can do is complain, please do the rest of your fellow owners a favor AND SELL! Go buy Marriott or something where you don't have to worry about these silly little problems.

The ability to pool hop is a perk that contributed to my decision whether or not to buy DVC. It may not be part of the price but it IS part of the value. And if they "devalue" my membership by removing that perk, then I think they should replace it with a perk of similar value...

And jeez, what is up with the snippy tone, jones?

My tone is because of the tone and attitude you and several others have on these boards. Unfortunately, I can't say what I'd really like to say, but honestly, the sense of entitlement you and others pretend you have is just ridiculous. Yes, I know your response will be you don't act that way... but yes... you do.

It amazes me when the 13 and 14 year olds who post on here are able to have a more mature conversation and act more adult like than those in their late 30's, 40's and 50's.

and with that...since this thread has deteriorated, it is now closed.
