BLT Founders tile

Hello all, I have a question about that "so mentioned" tile.

Was it only for add-ons? or was it also for fist time buyers?

Have they reached the 1,000 mark or not?

Who of you wonderful people of this forums got the "founder status" and when?

From what my guide told me was that only the people who were found members of DVC and did add ons with BLT got the tiles. If we say do an add on at the next resort that opens we'll get tiles. I've been taking what my guide says with a grain of salt at this point though.

hmmm. my guide doesn´t mention that! he offer us the opportunity to get that tile even when we were not members..... was he wrong? of just trying to push us to buy, because a few weeks before he just said, the option has ended and they have the 1,000 sales..........

it has only for current DVC members who added 160 points.

yes all the founders tiles are gone. (I think)

I purchased 160 points as a add on last month Nov 18th or so and I got one. At that point I was around the 850th person to get one.

I added on 250 points the day that they started selling and got a tile.

Well it appears like tile was only for add-ons.

Some guides were wrong or not well informed and that is bad.

However, does anybody know if the 1,000 mark had reached.

I could still make an add-on could that count as an add on to get the tile??

I would just check with your guide and then you would be sure to know the correct info. We all seem to have different information. Good luck!

I called this morning to confirm. I spoke with Senior Guide Randy Kruger who said that the Founders Tiles are for add-ons of 160 points (or more) - not for new members who are just buying their first 160 points.

Also, he confirmed that there are about 100 tiles left. It is possible right now to do a 160 point add-on and get a tile.

"Founders" status has never been afforded to purchasers that were not already owners. Precedent was set per DVD so I assume it's somewhat of a "perk" for owners or at least I'm sure it would be explained that way.

The same discussions ensued after AKV went through the same thing. I was in the same position as you then so I know what you mean.

I purchased 320 points as a new member, and I was told I wasn't eligible for the tile and that it was just for existing DVC members. Who is your guide, might I ask?? I am going to put in a call to my guide tomorow to ask for the tile, since there seems to be some left according to the other thread! I purchased on 11/29.

I spoke with my guide who confirmed that new DVC purchasers to BLT are not eligible for a tile.

Well I'm going to call MS tomorrow and see what needs to be done to get the tile setup. We'll see what MS says on this issue. Looking at the paperwork, it doesn't say anything about having to be an existing member to be eligible. All it says is that the first 1,000 purchasers acquiring an ownership interest in the resort get the tile. To me that would make more sense than limiting it to existing DVC members but who knows.

You are right, it just doesn't make sense. The first 1000 owners, no matter who they are, should be founding members. Wouldn't you think?

Kim, you must have a tile, If you bought 320 points, it would be 160 from the first contract and another 160 as add-on.....

I still have to get to the bottom of this. If I was one of the first 1,000 members I really should get a tile! 1 contract was for 160 points and then an additional contract was an ADD ON (technically) for another 160. I sent Member Services an email, but haven't heard back yet.
