BLT Dedicated vs Lockoff 2BR

Let's see if I can ask this without being too longwinded.
We're relatively new owners at BLT, went last October, had a 1BR Lake View.
Fantastic view for us, we faced the Contemporary Marina, we would love that again.

So we just made a reservation for a 2BR Lake View. Member services said they automatically give you a dedicated 2BR if they are available at the time of booking. Looking at the fantastic thread on BLT that Work2Play made, it looks like the only dedicated 2BRs with a Marina view are the rooms ending in xx44 (the last rooms on the wing).

If we were able to request a lock-off now, it would triple our chances of getting a Marina view (because there are so many more lock offs than dedicated).

I KNOW its only a request and no guarantees, but does anyone know if at BLT (or any DVC resort for that matter), you can specifically ask for lock off 2BRs?

And I was very long winded after all, sorry!

Lock-off and Dedicated are booking categories for 2-bedroom villas. If you want a lock-off instead of a dedicated you need to ask when you book.

Hmmmm....this has me thinking...if I book a dedicated 2BR at BLT, and when I check in there are (1) dedicated 2BRs available facing the inside (toward the pool) AND (2) there are lock offs available facing the outside (toward the contemporary marina), can I ask for the lock off? Since I have the reservation made as a dedicated 2BR, do I have to go into a dedicated??

If all the lock-offs were not booked then they might move you but if they are then they should honor what the booking categories are. If you really want a lock-off you should see if you can change your reservation.

A dedicated 2 bedroom has 2 Q beds in the second bedroom. The lockoff is a studio connected to a 1 bedroom, so you only get the 1 Q bed and full sleep sofa in the second bedroom. For us, having the 2 Q beds is important. View is not as important.
