Hi! We just returned from a BLT trip and cruise. We used BLT as a place to stay for one day before our cruise set sail but our time with Disney was great. Even though it was one day we loved our limited time at Disney World. I have some pictures to share if anyone is interested but I just need time to catch my breath after our whirlwind vacation. Is anyone interested in reading n seeing a report?

I love to read trip/cruise reports! Our family's DCL cruise in November will come after a 1 night stay in a Treehouse. Since we always like to get to Florida the day before we sail, I think spending the day using DVC at WDW is a great way to get ready for the cruise! How did you enjoy BLT?

Report AND pictures!!!! Woohoo!:cool1:

Please post a report. We booked our first cruise (4 night on the Dream sail next April). I'd love to hear about your experience, with pictures of course!

:surfweb: I will be looking for the report and pics. BLT and the cruise sounds great. Looking forward to the pics too.

I would love to see a report too. We're staying at OKW for 1 night prior to a 4-night cruise, then another 8 nights at BLT this Sept/Oct.

I would love to see your pics! We are planning a similar trip next year and I'm hoping I can get BLT at 7 months!!!

me too! i think BLT is a wonderful choice for a limited stay

Wow... What a great trip! Currently I am fighting the post vacation blues but I will try my best. We returned on Monday after a long day of travel and a stressful event at the airport. We Got off the Ship and rented a car to get to the Orlando Airport and arrived in plenty time. We grabbed some Burger King and were waiting... and waiting... and waiting to board our plane when I finally decided to go up to the Airtran desk and ask what was happening. I guess they already boarded the plane and we missed the boarding. The plan was sitting right their but they would not let us on. It was very very stressful but so they gave us seats on a flight 6 hours later. We had to wait around all day in the airport. When we finally got home we went right to bed and we both went to work in the morning. Then at night I had 2 meetings so needless to say I am sooooo tired. Vacations are great but they sure wipe you out. The first pic is a good representation of how I feel right now.

I will post some more pictures later but for now let me tell you about at least part of the trip. We arrived in orlando on time and jumped on the Disney Bus which was a good experience. We didn't have to wait too long to leave and the bus wasn't too crowded. Usually those busses have their share of tired, crying tots but this one was not too bad. We arrived at the Comtemporary and went to the desk to get our stuff from the online check-in. That went great.

This was our first time in the Contemporary and we really liked it. Of course our heads were looking everywhere at all the cool stuff. And they were especially tilted upwards looking at the high ceilings and the monorail. The monorail is such a cool feature going into the hotel. It may be old hat for some but for me it was awesome. Thats it for now.... I will try to get a couple pictures loaded... and will add more text and pics later if anyone is interested. For now I must tackle some piles of paper on my desk before the piles tackle me.

Many Blessings!!!
Nick

ps... This trip was a celebration for me as I lost 75 pounds. It felt really good!!!

Hello Again! Wow this trip really tired me out but it was worth it.

Anyways... After we did the online check in, which still requires a shorter check in, we headed to our room. The one thing that immediately struck me was how much security there is in the BLT building. Thats great and everything but if my kids were on the trip I would really be worried about them forgetting their keys. Granted they are teenagers and have some freedom now but it would add an extra burden on my shoulder to always have to pester them about their room key. I would feel secure that we were safer on the inside but that also puts limitations on them on the outside if you get my drift.

The room was great and I didn't have any complaints. I even liked having the bathroom sink in the kitchen. As always the Disney beds are comfortable and we had a great nights sleep.

On the downside BLT doesn't have the personality of say BWV but if you are into clean line and that modern feel BLT is the ticket. I am sure the place was full or near full because we had to wait for our wait list to come through to get the room but even at full or near full it was super quiet. You could hear a pin drop. That is so refreshing after a long day of travel or at the parks.

The pool was really nice but small and not a very "fun" place. But I think that was the feel they were going for. BLT is really geared more for adults than kids and its nice to have that kind of place available when needed. I think I prefer BWV for family trips but for a couples getaway BLT fits the bill.

The skyway was fun and of course seeing the monorail come by and pull into the contemporary was cool.

We didn't have a "view" room but we could see both MK and Bay Lake. I was not impressed with the MK view and would not be interested in using the extra points to get it. In my opinion the MK view is more like a parking lot view but to each his own.
