Where do you check-in for a DVC stay at BLT? in the BLT lobby?

What is the procedure for a DVC member staying at BLT on points to access the Top of the World lounge? How much time should I allowto get there before fireworks time?

Most services and check in is at the Contemporary.

TOTW is accessed from the BLT lobby TOTW check in desk. Your will need your KTTW card and Member card. Give yourself 30 minutes.

You check in at the CR lobby. I just returned from BLT this past weekend. You'll like it!

One other thing, if you're a DVC member staying at BLT on points, you can view the fireworks from the lounge area on top of BLT. It accessible only from the BLT lobby and it's not nearly as crowded at TOTW at CR.

You check in at the Contemporary front desk, just as if you were staying there. A better move is to check in on line, 10 days before arrival.
Again you would go to CR, see the line for on line check ins and off you go.
It's super quick, easy, and you're in the park in as much time as it takes to leave stuff at the bell desk (assuming your room is not ready yet.):hippie:

Is this lounge open to only DVC members or anyone staying at BLT? Any idea if it gets very crowded? I'm getting more and more excited about this upcoming trip every day!

TOTW at BLT is currently only open to members staying at BLT. See post #2 for additional info.

The lounge is only open to DVC members staying at BLT on points. You need to check in at BLT show your room key and blue DVC member card. You are taken up to the lounge by a CM. They use a special key in the elevator to take you to the 16th floor.

On our recent stay (5/27 to 6/4), we accessed the TOTW lounge three times. It was only open from 5 pm to midnight.

On the night we watched fireworks, we happened to be at Epcot and had a FP for Soarin' at 8:15 pm. Due to a lot of people using FP's for Soarin', the FP lane was longer than the standby lane (it moved faster obviously). We ended up walking out of Soarin' around 9:10 pm and rushed to the monorail to catch it back to BLT. We arrived back at the CR around 9:45. We walked quickly to BLT and to the TOTW desk on the first floor. We were taken up around 9:55 and found a spot to watch the MK fireworks.

So yes, you can visit at the last minute and still catch the fireworks! There is a large outdoor viewing area with music piped in. After the fireworks, the elevators were quite full so be prepared for a wait.

BTW - each time we went to the TOTW lounge, they asked us if we were staying on points. They must not have anyway to confirm that so they just ask.

We visited the TOTW lounge around 7:30 one night to take pictures in the daylight, but it was too hazy so we returned around 5:00 pm one evening when taking a late afternoon break from the MK. We got some excellent pictures of both sides. There is a sign up there that says that it is the highest viewing location in WDW. You can see all four parks from the TOTW. We also saw Summit Plummit at BB. I forgot to look for Typhoon Lagoon.

We will be staying at BLT next month and had planned on going to the TOTW lounge one night to view the fireworks. (Adult) DD is the DVC member, not me, so do you think they will let me up too:confused3,

Thanks,

Karen

Mom, I am sure that the guests staying in the same room can all go otherwise it would just be the one person that owned the points :confused3

Yes, if your daughter is there with you. My parents (who are not DVC members) were staying with us. They were able to join us at the TOTW lounge.

As long as your daughter booked the room through DVC (points OR cash through DVC) you guys can go up.

We just got home and had to show our key but they never wanted to see our DVC card (this time) perhaps because we offered to pull it out they assumed we had it, who knows. :confused3
