BLT check in question...urgent!

Did i hear correctly? we are staying in blt checking in this afternoon. do we go to the desk in the contemporary to do this? do we also use the CR concierge desk in the lobby to have our park tix merged onto our room key? thanks!

There is now a check-in desk at BLT. If you are driving or taking a taxi, you can check-in there. If you are taking ME, they will drop you off at the Contemporary and you will check-in there. Now that BLT has a check-in desk, I would hope that they also have a concierge. The front desk should be able to let you know where to go to put your tickets on your room key.

thank you! we are driving (almost in florida now)...would hate to schlep around more than we have to so thats great to know that BLT has its own desk now.

As part of a commitment to the continuous improvement of the Member experience, Disney Vacation Club has created a new check-in desk to allow Members staying at Bay Lake Tower to check in at the Bay Lake Tower lobby.

This convenient new service is available from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily until further notice.

Members arriving by Disney's Magical Express will continue to check-in next door at Disney's Contemporary Resort (where the Front Desk operates 24 hours a day).

The check-in desk in the Bay Lake Tower lobby also provides a variety of services for all Bay Lake Tower Members and Guests to enjoy throughout their stay, including check-out, ticket sales, dining reservations, recreation and spa reservations, and more.

check in at BLT - it took over 40 long minutes - because the guest in front of me needed information.

they only have at most 2 CM at the front desk at BLT.

would go to CR - believe me - if I had gone to CR check in would take less than 10 minutes if that long.

blt also does not have line thing - so RUDE people will get in front of you - they don't do that at CR.

the walk to BLT from CR is less than 5 minutes.

as far as going thru oneline check in - at blt I did not see a separate area for it - like at CR. so not sure about it.

yea - though it was a waste of time. at WDW you don't want to waste time especially with the MK so close....

Oh if only that were true. The one and only time I got steaming mad at check in was at the CR when some far more important person than I decided to cut in front and dragged the 5 others traveling along with him along. The others did look a bit embarrassed but also this man obviously wasn't one they contradicted. There really isn't a good line at the CR either.

Sounds like our experience at BCV when they tried villa check in there.

at least they have the cord thing - of course yea some people are just too good to get in line.....

the cu I use had this problem.

so they started the line thing - and if anyone thinks they are too good to stand in line - the tellers won't serve him they just say he needs to get in line to get service... Love 'em!!!

FYI, when we arrived at the security booth out front, the guard asked us what we were doing so we told him we were checking in to BLT. He checked our name (with photo ID) against a list he had in the booth, then called in to the front desk describing our car and told us to go to CR for check in and a concierge member would be waiting out front for us. AS lovely woman met us at the curb (knew our names from the guard and she had a list of today's guests on an ipad thingy) and gave our car keys to the valet girls to hold while she walked us to the desk to check in (took about 5minutes). Then we gathered our keys from the girls and drove our stuff over to BLT.

Our room Is MAGNIFICENT!

well was meet at the door of both BLT and AKV - also because of the guards calling them to tell someone I had arrived - so they are definitely trying to make it more friendly.

yes - DME is still checking in at CR. that say would not be surprised if the DME guests were checked in before you arrived

So I'm confused, it sounds like you can check in at either the Contemporary or BLT and if you are driving why did they send you to the Contemporary when you could have gone directly to BLT?

yep...thid was yrsterday. there was only a teenu tiny desk at blt for checkin so going to cr def faster.

we are in 8128...11th floor studii theme park view. LOVE it!! However i was a bit surprised that the room was about the same size as pop century rooms. having stayed at cr before i was expecting a much bigger room.
