BLT at 7 months

I'm thinking ahead to October 2015 and am wondering about availability at BLT at the 7 month mark? Is there usually any availability for studios (Lake or MK)? If not, how about 1 BR ?

I was able to book BLT using SSR points at the 7-month mark for an upcoming stay September 27th-Oct 2nd, so I think you shouldn't have any problems booking for October 2015 at the 7-month mark

I'm booked in a Lake View studio. The only option it didn't offer was a Standard View studio, so Theme Park View was also available.

GFV was a different story- it offered 3 of the 5 nights I needed at 7 months, and originally I was going to do a split stay but decided to do all at BLT.

IMO, it's a reasonable possibility if you make the attempt as soon as the 7 month window opens, especially if you are willing to waitlist and book online. (Consider booking your home resort at 11 months and then switching at 7 months. You probably don't need to do that if your resort is one of the larger ones that tends to have good availability at 7 months, though). You may not even have to waitlist if you are OK with a Lake View, especially if you want a 1 bedroom.

That said, if your trip includes any portion of the Columbus Day holiday, you may have a lot of trouble getting what you want. That has become a very popular time - many schools have time off then.

October is a high DVC demand month but you may find a 1BR lake view during parts of the month with less chance for a TP view, and chances for even lake view are much less if looking for the Thurs through Mon of Columbus Day weekend or weekend after that, which are very high DVC demand times.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, we would be going Thursday through Tuesday of Columbus Day weekend. I'll probably book at our home resort (AKV) and then see what it looks like at 7 months. If not, we'll stay at AKV. There are worse things .

I booked Oct. 25-28 in a BLT lake view studio at exactly 7 months out.

My parents booked a BLT studio for Oct 3-8 a month or two ago. They had an SSR reservation when BLT opened up (not their waitlist either - they waitlisted BC and VGF).

I think it depends on how many days you want and how flexible you are. I bought a BLT contract and sold my SSR contract because I was tired of worrying about Oct availability.
