Just wanted to get some other peoples' thoughts on staying at BLT during the food and wine festival. I am new member there and while I understand the appeal of BWV or BCV as you can just walk to them, the ride on the monorail to BLT from or to EPCOT is really not bad. I have not seen anyone mention that as an appealing place to stay during the festival. The monorail ride is easy and if you have had a little too much wine, it requires no real effort. Just wondering what people thought.

You have to catch the monorail at the front of Epcot vs walking to your room from the back entrance to BWV or BCV, but the monorail ride is convenient and nice. We stay at BWV or OKW and you are right, BLT is a notch up over waiting for "will it ever get here?" buses going to OKW... plus you get another glance of the great landscaping thru Epcot when walking to the front to catch the monorail. We bought at BLT as well and look forward to walking to MK and catching monorail to Epcot... the kids beg to ride the monorail anyway! Any way you do it, nothing is instantenous... and you can try to book at the 7 month window at BWV or BCV if need be...

While in general, I enjoy taking the monorail, I think it takes a long time to get from the resort monorail to the TTC, then get on a second monorail to Epcot. I'd rather be at BC or BW where I don't have to wait for transportation.

I do think BLT will be awesome, though. ;) Congratulations on your purchase.

One of the main reasons we bought at BLT was that the monorail was right there. Add that to the fact of I've always wanted to stay at the CR again since I had such fond memories of it from when I was a kid.

It has no appeal to me. I would perfer to stay at either an Epcot or bus resort.

Get on monorail at BLT... Change at Ticket and Transportation... (Holding for clearance)

Get back on monorial at Epcot, Change again and then do the "tour" See ALL the other resorts and MK before you get to the hotel. (Holding for clearance several times LOL!)

Nope, not really that easy.

I'm not sure I'd bother with the monorail while staying at BLT (of course, I doubt I'll ever be staying at BLT in the next few years at least.) I'd probably just get my car from valet parking and drive myself to Epcot. Of course, I'm not a drinker so being able to drive to get back to BLT wouldn't be an issue for me.

We do own BWV and stay there in October for F&W. It is wonderful just walking over to the world showcase whenever we want to. Reservations are already made for next October, boardwalk view studio (just DH and I go for F&W). :cool1:

I don't think I'd pick BLT for a F&W stay. If I couldn't get BWV or BCV then I'd stick with my home resort, OKW.

Personally, I've never understood the appeal of the monorail resorts. It's nice that they are close to the MK (although from the CR I'd just walk to the MK as it's much faster), but going anywhere else is no different than any other DVC property. To get to EPCOT from the CR it requires 2 monorail rides, while it's just one bus ride from the other properties. Actualy, if it were me I"d walk to the MK and take the BCV bus and then enter EPCOT through the International Gateway.

That said, if BLT is your home and it's where you want to stay then you should stay there.

OP - DH and I are totally with you. We (2 adults, no kids) spend 80% of our WDW time either in MK or EPCOT and I personally LOVE the monorail. Don't know why but the monorail means WDW to me !:rotfl: I know it's not the fastest way to get around a lot of the time, but I'd rather travel via monorail than just about any other mode of transportation. If there were monorails in other places, I'd definitely ride them!

Anyway, back to the topic. Yes, DH and I plan to stay at BLT during food and wine and monorail back to our room at the end of the night!
