I am starting to plan our 2014 trip to celebrate DS's graduation (this is what he chose for his trip--I raised that boy right!!). I told him he could take someone with us, so we will be a party of 5. I am thinking of renting points for a 2 bdrm at either BLT or AK or we could get 2 rooms at a mod. I know that the 2 rooms would be cheaper especially if there are any discounts, but we wouldn't have as much room to spread out while at the resort. Price isn't the ultimate decision maker, but spending less has its perks!

What would you do?

Thanks!

My kids favorite resort since they were teens is Coronado Springs. The rooms there have all been upgraded with very comfy queen size beds. They love the more adult atmosphere, large pool/deck, large pool slide and oversized hot tub. It was where my DD chose for her graduation trip and she had a friend come too. I was totally comfortable with them going to the pool late hours and they loved it!

If you want to have space to move around and yet save some money, I would consider renting points for SS or OKW, or a standard view at AKV.

Based on your party of 5 including a non-family member, if I were going to stay at a moderate, I think I would choose either CS, PO-R or PO-FQ.

I might also think about looking into a 2-bedroom at the Sheraton Vistana. I know its off property but it would give you needed space and privacy and the price is amazing.

You could also go with renting two standard rooms at one of the Villa resorts like BLT. That would save money and give you space.

Congrats on your son's graduation and good taste to choose Disney! :cheer2:

Hope you have fun!

There is no comparison between a 2 bedroom villa at BLT or AKV and 2 rooms at a moderate resort. The 2 bedroom villas are huge, with a master bedroom and bath, full kitchen, washer and dryer, full 2nd bedroom, full sized balconies and separate sleeping areas in the full den. 2 rooms at a moderate are just 2 rooms at a moderate. At BLT, you can walk to the monorail, or the MK. The deluxe villas also have nicer pools and more amenities at the resorts.

There would be no decision for my family - the 2 bedroom villa at BLT would be my 1st choice, 2 bedroom at Kidani Village would be my 2nd choice (just because you have to ride buses to the parks all the time), and then I would take 2 rooms at a moderate if I couldn't get choices 1 or 2.

I am actually in this same situation and thinking of getting 2 rooms at a moderate- but wondering if its the smartest choice. I would rather get a villa if its possible and would end up costing the same- but I would think they cost a lot more for a 2 bedroom?

I would definitely do a villa if that is in budget! You can save the difference in cost on snacks/breakfast alone and if you ever decide to have a meal in, there's more. And love the third bathroom at both AKL and BLT. Nice when traveling with "friends". Nice job raising that boy!

I would just do the villa at BLT, although AKL is beautiful its just too far from everything!

I would do the villa at BLT. The size is great and the 3rd bathroom will be a bonus. You can get to anywhere you want at Disney. There are buses to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney and the water parks. You can walk to MK where you can hop on a bus to just about anywhere else on Disney property (like the other resorts). You can monorail to the resorts around the loop as well as to Epcot. You can use the pool at BLT or decide to use the one at the Contemporary. It really is a beautiful resort and very convenient to anything else. Gives the young adults quite a bit of independance.

Enjoy!!! Anywhere on Disney property will be fun!!!
