BLT @ 7 mo the week before/thanksgiving week...

We are confirmed for BWV our home resort the Thurs before thanksgiving but are considering a split stay at BLT. We'd like to get a LV that also has views of Mk wishes... What category room would that be? Also any thoughts of booking that category at 7mo? We have never stayed there so trying to figure out my priorities...

It's as good as about any week. You are between F&W and Thanksgiving, so its a small calm between the popular DVC storms.

You aren't asking for a guaranteed booking category there is MK view..

So most of the LV rooms do NOT have MK views as well? Sorry I'm not sure how the villas are set up here. But LV is cheaper in points right? (i know I can look, lol!) The only way to guarantee MK though is to book MK I know... Just didn't know if there was a high likelihood for most of the LV

Of the LV rooms that have some view of the MK (I haven't stayed in any of them so I am not sure if the 02 rooms have much of an MK view at all- definitely if not on the balcony. There are 14 dedicated 2 bedrooms and 21 2 bedrooms lock-offs which can become studios and 1 bedrooms as well that are in this block of rooms with some sort of MK view and being LV points. One the other hand there seems to be 63 dedicated 2 bedrooms and 80 2 bedroom lock-offs that don't have a view of the Magic Kingdom based on: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2257082&highlight=blt+rooms+and+views which is the most accurate information I know about the views.

BLT is basically shaped like a letter C. There are inside and outside the "C" rooms...most are LV. There are some LV rooms right next to MK view rooms, but most of the rooms don't really have the visibility to MK.

The bottom floor and a few above on the parking lot side is Standard view.

I think you want Even Number (outside the C" ) North facing or West (more of a Grand Floridian view... But I've not made that request.

Ahhh that helps... Just looked at the pints chart... GEEZ!!! That's probably why I've never booked, lol! The MK views are about 12-14 points more/ night for the time we are going. Slightly different question, but is it worth it if no MK view?? I know opinions will vary but just wondering what others thought...

The lake view is breathtaking and relaxing. For our upcoming trip in January 2014 we originally booked theme park view but then ended up changing it to lake view only because I have read so many mixed reviews that you have to get specific rooms to actually enjoy the theme park view, other wise it's a waste. I didn't want to get there and end up disappointed with the view and use all those extra points when I know what I will be getting by booking lake view. One other thing I have heard people say is that you kind of have to do theme park view once to realize lake view is the better option. I know at some point in the future we will do theme park view but dh and I decided to wait till we are done having kids and wait till they are a bit older to do that view since in all likelihood we will only do it once.

That makes sense, to try and wait until the kids are older to splurge. I might just try and see what we can get lakeview and go into with the mindset of just exploring another DVC property....

There are three views, Theme Park, lake , and standard. The lake views are about 68% of all rooms and only a small set of those also can see MK and the castle. It is the lake view rooms that are on the north wall of the building facing north that can see MK when looking to your left so you might make a request for a high floor in that area but the request is not guaranteed. The only way to guarantee an MK view is to get theme park view. Other lake views face east, the exact opposite direction from looking at MK, or south in the general direction of Epcot and those do not have a view of MK. My personal view is the lake views looking east and some toward the south are actually the best views there. Theme park view is mainly good for one thing, the fireworks at night, otherwise that which you mostly get an eyeful of all day is a huge parking lot. Lake view is pleasant all day long.

For the time you are talking about switching to BLT, you should be able to get lake or theme park view. That week before Thanksgiving week is actually the calm between two storms, Oct through about mid-Nov and the period that starts the Tues before Thanksgiving, and many things not usually open Oct through Dec are available at 7 months out during that week.

I booked a few days after the 11 month date and waitlisted standard view it came through later that afternoon (probably because someone had been walking a Thanksgiving reservation). If you book right at 7 months 8am you have a chance of getting a lakeview. We go this week or the following each year and normally the people we meet up with are other BLT owners who also vacation the same weeks.
