I'll be booking a 2 BR at BLT for the first time soon and just wondered what the differences are between dedicated and lock-off? Any pros or cons with either choice?

A lock-off 2-bedroom is a studio and a 1-bedroom with an interior connecting door. The studio becomes the 2nd bedroom and will have a queen bed & sleeper sofa. The studio portion will also have a kitchenette.

A dedicated 2-bedroom will have 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom.

The lock-off will have 2 entrances since it's really 2 rooms. A dedicated will only have a single entry. If children will be sleeping in the 2nd bedroom, you would probably want a dedicated. If another family will be in the 2nd bedroom, a lock-off would make it seem like they have their own room.

The 2nd BR in a lock off has quite a bit less floor space due to the kitchenette. If you need the space, go for the dedicated.

Those are pretty cool options. I think the kids will take the pullouts in the LR leaving the lock-off or 2nd BR for my Brother and SIL. I think I may just ask them what they prefer. I can see benefits either way. Thanks for the responses! These are very helpful.

On our trip last year with our 2 DD and their mates, we asked them what they would prefer. We ended up with the 2 BR Dedicated. This worked out really well as the 2 QS beds were well utilized by my eldest DD and her husband as they are more 'sloucher's' than 'couch sitters'. . Really didn't need a Kitchenette when we already had a full kitchen. My other DD and her mate used the Living Rm pull out. The pull outs at BLT are very good.
