BLT 2 BR: Before Online Reservations Could you Specifically Reserve a Lockoff?

I was just playing on the new online reservation system. First, there are separate options for 2 BR and 2 BR LO. Second, there was an availability difference between the two types, but same view.

Prior to the on-line system, could a lock-off be specifically reserved?

Yes, I'm pretty sure that all of the reservations were specifically listed as either a Dedicated or Lock-off. It's just new that we get to see this now with online reservations.

Yes. Based on availability, MS would book a dedicated unless the member asked for a lock-off.

you definitely could. got a lock off - friends coming for one visit - then next time got a dedicated - family

There are probably a lot of things available to us online that MS never asked us about. Disney seems to have a "if they don't ask, I don't have to tell" policy.

hey when it first opened up until 1995 - all the CM went out of their way for DVC members.

they definitely told me first time making a reservation for a 2-bedroom - what my choices were and they were in the layout you got when becoming a member.

Yep, we just booked a lockoff a few months ago for November 2012 by calling. The ressie does note the lockoff too.

Yes. We always specify, and it is listed on the reservation that we receive. Lock off/dedicated is NOT a request, so if you specify, that's what you'll get.

In July 2010 we were specifically asked by MS if we wanted a lock-off or a dedicated. I did not ask... they asked me. I went back and forth and opted for the lock-off, given we had two families of 4 staying there and one family still felt like they had their own place when they closed the door to the other. We will be trying the 2 bedroom dedicated for the first time this fall.
