BLT 1br sqftage?

The 1bdrm is about 1100 sq ft. whereas the studio is only a little over 300 sq ft. BIG difference!

I wish this were correct, but it isn't. A 1BR at BLT is ~800 sqft. A 2BR is ~1200 sqft.

The information provided when the BLT models first opened was that 1BRs are 803 sq. ft. OKW has the largest 1BR villas by far at 1005 sq ft. - followed by VB, HH and GCV and then BLT has the next largest. For onsite DVC resorts, BLT 1BRs are second only to OKW.

THANKS for clarifying that! Looks like our original guide was incorrect about that, as well as many other things. Regardless, that link I posted above has some awesome photographs of BLT.

Doc, where does Disney publish all that info on the resorts? Is it in the member guide?

One thing that really stood out to us when we toured the 2BR lockoff at BLT last week is that the size doesn't necessarily feel that much greater (if at all) than other 1BR's b/c of the addition of the extra bathroom. And the bedroom part was smaller than what we had at BWV. This was an inner circle room and had a full laundry room which I'm sure also took up extra space.

We had done the models at SSR a over a year ago and remembered that as being more spacious in the living areas.

That AKV info above is for Jambo not Kidani. Kidani's 1BR is 807 sq ft, 2BR 1173. Those are the figures DVD gave when it opened and still show on its site (http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/guest/resorts/resortDetail?id=ProspectsDAKVAccommodationsPage ), and thus the AKV 1Brs are just a little larger than BLT (803 sq ft) while the 2BR is significantly larger because the studio at AKV Kidani is 366 in comparison BLTs 339

Yes, we just had a one bedroom this week and was told that the layouts are not all the same. I saw into one room that was different than ours. It had an island with 2 bar stools, but ours did not have that and was not equipped for it as the island did not have a overhang area. However we also had the full laundry room, which some unit just have a closest. It was weird that not all of the rooms are laidout the same. We were also told that not ALL studios are set up the same (by the housekeeper). She said that they changed the model mid way through because of the complaints, so the vanity is not in ALL studios' kitchen area. It was find for us and we loved the second bathroom. However, we were missing a curtain which took 3 days to get fixed and our air conditioner went out and it took all afternoon to fix by replacing it with 2 different units. Alot of problems in this new unit. We were ready to ask to be moved by day 3. We also got T&T on day 3 and day 5 -- strange (of a 6 night stay).

Thanks for the info. We asked several the DVC folks several times about the lay-out and they looked confused like we were crazy. I too thought it was because of the different location. So walkin laundry room vs bar stools, that is tough as we liked the walkin laundry rooms and all of the space with the shelves to store water and pool toys.

Maybe the housekeeper didn't realize they are a HA unit. She told us that the designers changed the studio layouts after all of the complaints. I will be watching threads to see.

Another Question: are the studios and 1 bedrooms ALL Lock Offs? Or do any of them come as a dedicated. We know the 2 bedrooms can be dedicated as we have a standard dedicated reserved for Oct. 31-Nov. 4. Just curious.

No, I'm pretty sure there are no dedicated studios or 1br units.

FYI - we had an inner 1BR with the bar stools and laundry closet in Oct. So I don't think inner vs. outer is a hard rule on the layout.

Do you recall a room number? Were you towards the end of a wing or maybe in the middle of the building?

Our 1 bedroom inside the circle with no barstools and a laundry room was the last room before the curve so we could look down on the trees/courtyard.
