Just got off the phone with my guide... BLT is $112 per point with $5 back... so actually $107 per point. The first 1000 BLT members get their name on a fountain. The "example" rooms have been built at SSR... the guides are seeing them today. Sales start on Sunday and are open only to current members for 2 weeks before opening to the public.

Thats strange the video link has it at about $104 with a buy in of $16640 thionking it's at 160 min.

Did your guide say if there will be a minimum purchase to get the $5 off per point?

Thanks for the info!!

go to dvc.com and the points calculator has them up.

And it indicates there will be three different views: standard, lake and MK...

When I check 8/16-8/17 (Sunday/Mon) for a studio, I get
Standard 14 pts
Lake 19 pts
MK 22 pts.

The minimum for the $5 discount is 160 points.

Points for September 9 in a standard view studio: 12
Points for September 12 (weekend) in the same room: 23

This is basically the same as BCV at 12 and 22 for the same nights.

Any incentives other than the price reduction (i.e. developers points)? Any idea when it's opening? I've left a message with my guide, but they are probably totally inundated right now.

We are meeting with our guide this Thursday. The Sentinel article says fall of next year for BLT. With THV open next summer.

wow....i can't really get over the point values or the purchase price.....

this is a much better deal than anything that has been recently offered....

we're seriously considering selling off or saratoga to any takers and moving over to contemporary....

i'm shocked....literally

I agree -- at first glance it seems like a great value. I'm wondering how hard it will be to get at the 7 month mark -- I really don't NEED any new points, but see myself wanting to stay here several times, and I'm wondering if for a little while, it will be really booked up at 7 months. I wish I had a crystal ball right about now! :wizard:

We also are considering selling and buying in. May have to call our guide tonight after a chat with the boss (DW).
lol

BLT opens Sept 1, 2009. You can start making reservations March 1, 2009. No developers points being offered.

I have a question. If I buy in right away, I will probably put about half down and finance the rest over a couple of years. When we bought in at SSR, they were already up and running, so we started paying dues, contract payments immediately. How will that work with an opening date of Sept 2009 for BLT? When will contract payments and dues payments start? Thanks in advance.

Been playing with new point calculator on the member site. As to the point cost, the MK view is going to be an arm and a leg, e.g., 5 weeknights in a studio during Magic Season is 70 points at BWV preferred; it will be 110 for BLT MK view (personally I do not consider an MK view to be 60% better than a BWV boardwalk view but that is about the percentage point difference) . During the week, Lake view will be well above other resorts (comparing to BWV preferred), standard will be above during the week, but where they have evened it out somewhat for lake and standard view is that weekend cost is going to be lower than or close to other resorts for those nights

Any announcement on how this impacts AKV (or any of the other DVC properties)? Do you think add-on AKV incentives will end with the announcement of BLT? And will the AKV price per point go up?

Yeah, it looks like the price per point is lower than expectations, but the points required to stay there is larger.
