Blondie/Heart/Benatar/Joan Jett/Chrissie Hynde

Blondie: Call Me
Heart: Magic Man
Pat Benatar: We Belong
Chrissie Hynde: Back on the Chain Gang with the Pretenders

But none of these ladies are my favorite rockers. Give me Stevie Nicks any day!
I'm still a big Stevie Nicks fan but I like Heart and Blondie too. I loved the Go Gos back in the day too. :lovestruc

Enjoy:

Blondie, 1979: Band at their peak, absolutely killer live performance of Dreaming. This video encapsulates the paradigm of new wave.

Heart, 1977: Amazing live performance of Crazy on You

Pat Benatar, 1983: Striking live performance of Hell is For Children

Joan Jett, 1988. The only MTV style video in this selection: promo vid for I Hate Myself For Lovin' You. Included because it is a compilation of live performances that capture her at her absolute peak.

Chrissie Hynde, 1995: Awesome live cover of Neil Young's The Damage Done

Thanks for this. :goodvibes Enjoyed them all. I had to fool your Blondie link, with TunnelBear - blocked here. And Heart, I was just reminded of how that guitar intro has to be one of the best ever. And the last WAS awesome, you were right - I've never seen it.

Love Stevie! Saw her at Jones Beach a couple of times.

Really enjoyed the behind the scenes of her life. Maybe Oprah's Master Class? :confused3 I think it was that. She really lived her own life. Not everyone does.

Also, I wanted to add that I'm jealous about your Jones Beach concerts. I've been there a few times, no concerts but the venue must have a lot of lovely history for you all in the area.

Not a Blondie or Chrissie fan.

But Heart: Never

Pat B.- We Belong

Joan Jett: Hate myself for loving you and if I could honorable mention for when she was in the Runaways: Cherry Bomb

How about Scandal with Patty Smyth or Berlin or Quarterflash with Rindy Ross? Dang it I loved the 80's.

I like Paramore, it's cool to have women as the lead in a group.

Of course you can, since my selection was exactly the same. :goodvibes:thumbsup2

I did listen to Scandal and Berlin. But I don't know Quarterflash. Going to go check it out. :thumbsup2

Anyone remember Missing Persons? Not necessarily great vocals but they had a few fun songs.

The theater at Jones Beach is great for concerts. Unless it's raining, of course. They cancel if there's thunder and lightning, but not rain . . .I got thoroughky drenched at a Jimmy Buffet concert in 2012.

Heart--Stairway to Heaven

Benatar--We Belong

Blondie--The Tide is High

Pretenders--I'll Stand By You

Jett--Hate Myself for Loving you.

Sure....loved Missing Persons and Dale Bozzio. "Words" was one of my most favorite videos during the early days of MTV. But I liked the song "Walking in L.A." the best.

Alas, Ms. Bozzio hasn't aged too well. Saw Missing Persons about 5 years ago as part of a "80s Reunion" concert. She looked really haggard and dried-out. But she still did a great "Destination Unknown."

Others bands on the bill were The Fixx, Tommy Tutone, The Knack and A Flock of Seagulls.

Glad you got to see them all. That Blondie vid is just so full of raw energy - almost the best of the era.

But the one in the link below is actually the winner, five and a half minutes of ferocious feminine fireworks filmed in Tokyo in 1986. The lungs in this lady are incredible, just listen to that flawless extended note she holds starting at 4:17....
