Billy, there is nothing wrong with using the ignore feature or asking about it. For some, it is not about being thin-skinned or taking disagreements as hateful comments, but a way to ensure you (generally speaking) avoid conflict....some people come here just to be hateful, stir crap and insult people they know nothing about. I can think of about 6 users/posters off the top of my head.
And for the record, I do use the feature. As a matter of fact, I have somebody on this page on my ignore list.
The Dis folks added it because they know some people just live to create controversy. I am sure they would encourge people to use it rather than to get into heated debates.
