Blockbuster going back to having late fees.

I'm a Blockbuster employee, and I have to say that I WISH my store would go back to late fees. You have no idea how many times a night I have to say "No we don't have Dukes of Hazzard/40 year old Virgin/The Island/Bad News Bears/Mr and Mrs Smith, etc. in stock."

This is a direct result of how late people keep movies. When I check movies back in, it's close to only 1 in 100 being returned even close to the due date. I'm tired of ticking off our customers and then having to suffer the abuse.

We're not going back, no matter how much all the employees beg. My manager says it's just the stores in large cities, like New York City and Chicago, L.A., etc.

I have found that the only way I can get decent new movies is to go on a Tuesday afternoon afterschool. We finally got Madagascar after about three tries. I haven't been able to rent Battlefront II for Xbox since its release early November.

That's the worst part of the no late fees. Going to find a movie and finding it's never there. I hate it. Molly, I'm one of those customers who gets really p.o'd when I can't find a movie over and over. It's so frustrating. I hope my store goes back to late fees.

I do admit that now when I rent a movie that is "due" back in 2 days, I tell myself it's due back in 8 days and keep it the whole time. I'm to blame also! *she says as she still waits to watch a movie she rented last Tuesday*

My experience with netflix wasn't much better though. In the beginning it was great, fast, never a problem. Then I was always looking at 2-3 waits on new releases unless I happened to get lucky on the first day of its release.
