Blockbuster and Playstation 2

First off THANK YOU to whoever posted about Blockbuster gift certificates and Play Station2!!

I have been searching for "A DEAL" on PS2 for many months.. none to be found..everybody out here in my neck of the woods has them for 199.00 so I finally caved in..

Today I purchased 4 $50 blockbuster gift cards.. they gave me $20 as a gift (4-$5 cards)
That = $200 dollar purchase for $220 in gift cards. I turned around and purchased the PS2 for $199.99 and the 2nd controller for $19.99. Total with tax-$235.93

So I feel like I got the 2nd controller for free... YAY!!

Now I have to go back with a list of games.. the kids each get one to start with. So back I go to get the gift cards. Probably $100 so that means $10 in free gift cards. Also if you purchase a game, you get a free game rental card. Unless I can find PS2 games for less somewhere else.. any idea's guys??
WHEW! At least the "Family" gift is purchased.. I still have lots of other stuff to accrue!

Just wanted to remind you not to forget the memory card, you need one to save where you are in a game. If you have more than one kid I suggest one for each of them, cuts down on the fighting.

That's our family gift this year, too (Ok so I was the one who wanted it but hey, I'll let the rest of the family use it )

You know I don't think I ever even played one game on the PS1.. I think I remember doing Tetris on the old nintendo system... Hec.. Pong was good for me! LOL

Btw guys kids are 15 and 13.. and I don't let them play the violent murderous stuff... I know tough mom.....

We just got Rachett & Clank and Jax & Daxter. Both of those are platformers. We both liked Kingdom Hearts too (it's done by Disney & Squaresoft). Jax & Daxter is out on the Greatest Hits line so you can pick it up for $19.99. You could also check out smaller boutique stores for some used games. We loved Final Fantasy X which came out last Christmas. Sly Cooper & the Theivius Racoonus is another platformer that got decent reviews.

I highly recommend reading some reviews before buying anything. Gamers.com has both editor reviews & user reviews. EBGames.com also has user reviews. My BF learned that lesson after buying a few stinkers. When in doubt, rent first. Do you have the G4 station on your cable? They're running a series of hour-long programs called Gifts for Gamers for each of the platforms.

BTW, if you pick up any PS1 games, you'll need a PS1 memory card. I haven't been able to save any of my PS1 games on a PS2 memory card.
