we will plan to go to typhoon lagoon
but i dont want to feel like i'm missing out on something good

also
is it too cold in nov (11/10 - 11/14)
to go to a water park

this has been worrying me a lot these days

We've (my family & I ) have spent a lot a time at both water parks. If B.B. is to be closed for your stay, you can still have a heck of a good time at T.L. , I highly recommend Shark Reef and the wave action at Typhoon Lagoon is a lot of fun too. Don't worry you can have a real good time at T.L. !!

We visited TL for the 1st time last month. We LOVED it!! It was myself, dh & 4.5 yo dd. We haven't been to BB.

From what I understand, BB places more emphasis on slides. TL has the wave pool. TL has maybe 4-6 slides (adult) plus several "kiddie" slides.

We're not really into water slides. Dh really loved body surfing in the wave pool. DD really loved the kiddie area.

There were TONS of chairs, plus lots of shade/trees. They have a pretty good food hut, too. DD got a bucket & shovel w/ her kiddie meal.

TL has plenty of sand. Don't know if BB does.

BB also has an area for the "inbetween" ages, 8-12, too old for kiddie area, to small for adult areas. TL does not, except for 1 water slide.

We will definently return to TL our next trip!! Loved Loved Loved it!!

The notion that we live in New England colors many of our reactions. We can find days warm enough for the water parks in December! Folks from warmer places don't agree with that!

I prefer the tropical theming of TL to the melting snow look of BB. All that white reflects too much light! However, the family raft ride, and toboggan runs are a lot of fun. At TL I enjoy the body slides, the wave pool, the shark pool (lifeguard yelling at me--maam don't kick--automatic I guess), and especially floating in Castaway Creek.

Typhoon's surf pool was very "rough" if you've used to going to water parks where the wave pool rotates having waves and not.
There was a pair of slides in the edge of the surf pool for kids. I saw lifeguards "run off" some larger children, but my DD9 is kinda small, so they didn't say anything to her.

Kiddie area (under 48") looked like fun, but my DD9 couldn't use it. She's not brave (and neither am I), and she wouldn't agree to do the family raft ride, so we did a couple of laps around the lazy river, visited Shark Reef to watch, and decided to go on over to Blizzard. I want to do Shark Reef next trip.

Blizzard has the pre-teen area called Ski Patrol Camp. She did the iceberg walk when we arrived, then wanted to do the lazy river (see a pattern here?) NOTE: On both lazy rivers, look for the landing name-sign where you put in at. If not, you won't get back to where you started. There are 6 or so landings.

I insisted that one lap of lazy river was enough and that we needed to explore some. We went to the wave pool and it was very nice. She wished that is would be smooth some of the time, but it was like nice Gulf of Mexico waves...over and over. We went back to the pre-teen area where she did the iceberg walk again. I finally convinced her to try the slides there. I could see parents doing it with their kids, so we went down the body slides and she loved it. The landing pool was 3.5 feet or so. She did it over and over until I convinced her to try the one next to it where you ride down in a tube. It is short but fun. The landing pool is only 2 feet deep. There was one other activity, the t-bar drop, but you drop into 8 feet of water there. I saw the lifeguard go in after someone there.

At both parks, there are photographers standing in the lazy river. They made great pictures, but I never bought ours. TL wouldn't deliver to the resort and we were headed to BB. At BB, I didn't have enough money on me. Oh well, I had my waterproof camera and got pics of my own. Melanie
