Typhoon's surf pool was very "rough" if you've used to going to water parks where the wave pool rotates having waves and not.
There was a pair of slides in the edge of the surf pool for kids. I saw lifeguards "run off" some larger children, but my DD9 is kinda small, so they didn't say anything to her.
Kiddie area (under 48") looked like fun, but my DD9 couldn't use it. She's not brave (and neither am I), and she wouldn't agree to do the family raft ride, so we did a couple of laps around the lazy river, visited Shark Reef to watch, and decided to go on over to Blizzard. I want to do Shark Reef next trip.
Blizzard has the pre-teen area called Ski Patrol Camp. She did the iceberg walk when we arrived, then wanted to do the lazy river (see a pattern here?) NOTE: On both lazy rivers, look for the landing name-sign where you put in at. If not, you won't get back to where you started. There are 6 or so landings.
I insisted that one lap of lazy river was enough and that we needed to explore some. We went to the wave pool and it was very nice. She wished that is would be smooth some of the time, but it was like nice Gulf of Mexico waves...over and over. We went back to the pre-teen area where she did the iceberg walk again. I finally convinced her to try the slides there. I could see parents doing it with their kids, so we went down the body slides and she loved it. The landing pool was 3.5 feet or so. She did it over and over until I convinced her to try the one next to it where you ride down in a tube. It is short but fun. The landing pool is only 2 feet deep. There was one other activity, the t-bar drop, but you drop into 8 feet of water there. I saw the lifeguard go in after someone there.
At both parks, there are photographers standing in the lazy river. They made great pictures, but I never bought ours. TL wouldn't deliver to the resort and we were headed to BB. At BB, I didn't have enough money on me. Oh well, I had my waterproof camera and got pics of my own. Melanie
