My wife and I are taking my 5 year-old and 3 year-old girls to one water park and wanted suggestions on which is better for this age - BB or TL? Thanks.

Well both have their positives and negatives for that age. We did TL when our kids were 6 and 3, did BB when they were 8 and 11 then just did TL again last month they are 10 and 13.

TL the good is the Catch-a-kiddie creek area is pretty nice, my kids loved it. The lagoons are shallow and the water is warm. The family slide is tame and they could do that, in general most of the slides are tamer at TL than BB. There is plenty of shade areas, the sand it nice. The negative might be the wave pool, the waves really are 6ft and very powerful even in the shallow area.

BB the good is the pool is bobbing waves, not strong. We did not do the really young kiddie area so can't comment. Teamboat springs family ride is more adventurous but lots of little ones do it. Theme is pretty cool. Not as much shade, lots more slides. We didn't find it to be as relaxing at TL.

Look at the websites and really read up about the attractions to help you decide. :teeth:

If they have never been to a waterpark before I would go to TL. I really like the theming on this over Blizzard Beach. If you're 5 yr old is a real daredevil then maybe BB would be a better choice.

TL has the second biggest wave pool in the world and is great for a relaxing bob in the water, very much like the ocean.

Kettakiddie creek has some great places for the young ones to play.

We like Blizzard Beach. We LOVE Typhoon Lagoon.

Last fall we went to TL one day, then BB the next and both my 2(almost 3)yo and my 8yo liked BB better. The kiddie area at BB (Tike's Peak) was a little mellower, without as many sprayers, so the little one preferred that. Also, BB has a sort of "junior" area - Ski Patrol Training Camp (??), so most of the bigger kids were over there, leaving Tike's Peak to the truly little ones. At TL's Ketchakiddie Creek, there were so many bigger kids spraying the little ones mercilessly, that my little one didn't get to enjoy the kiddie-sized slides and such at all.

We thought the family raft ride was much better at BB, too. It really depends on what your family likes, but for us, the one at TL was so short, we felt it wasn't worth the wait. My 2yo loved BB's family raft ride (and the chair lift ride to get to it), but she also loves Goofy's Barnstormer and cried because she was too short to go on Splash Mountain. If your little one gets scared on Goofy's Barnstormer, you may want to skip it.

We like Typhoon Lagoon over Blizzard Beach. It seems more laid back for us and we can take our kids on more of the rides. We also love the shark tank although the water can be cold at times.
