Blizzard Beach vs. Typhoon Lagoon for the younger set

My kids will have just turned 6 and 9 for our upcoming trip and are ready to try a water park. They are not thrill seekers but do like the water. We have free plus features on park hoppers we bought last year so we would like to try one of the water parks on one of our free days. Which is the better "starter" water park for us non-thrill seekers?

Blizzard beach! My daughters are 5 & 7 and I found that there so much to do! There is a great 'preteen' area for kids around 8 that has a lot of fun stuff- most not very daring- but beware- the lifeguards are there mostly for show and the occaissonal "one at a time" comment. My 5 yr old got separated from me and not one lifeguard there(and I approached 3 separate!) would leave their post to help look for her or use a bull horn or anything to help. I was so nervous because she didn't have her life jacket- but they wouldn't help me -just said they'd keep a look out!

But BB also has a nice smaller kid area where you can let them play and you can sit/sun yourself and see pretty much the whole area. It's appropriate for preschool as well as up to 10yrs- but the older kids may get bored quick.

The kids area is great for your ages. The cartoon theme is fun. The wave pool is fairly mild, unlike the powerful one at TL. Lazy river, a few fairly mild slides and you will love the family raft ride. Also a ski lift to take you to the slides (and directly to family raft ride).

I would certainly go for BB.....as noted above, great area for kids/teens. Plus, the adults will get to do the Summit Plummit.
