Which one would you recommend for my family? We are 4, mom (34) dad (36) and two boys, ages 8 1/2 and 3 1/2 (at time of trip)...both boys are pretty adventerous and love the water and water parks........

I am not sure if there is a big difference in what is available at the parks...we are looking to do at least one morning at the water parks.

We will be there from July 11-18th so I know it will be crowded no matter which we choose.

Staying at the AKL for 2 nights and then Boardwalk villas for 5 nights...getting the LOS pass so the water parks are included...

Any thoughts????

thanks so much

IMHO I would go with Typhoon Lagoon. My family prefers it to BB, although most will say to go to BB. There is alot to do at TL that both children will enjoy as well as you and your husband. Same can be said for BB, I just feel that BB is more geared towards older children (again just my opinion). My DS was 4 and DD 8 on our last trip which was our first time to TL and it was hands down the best day of vacation. We were only going for a couple of hours and ended up closing down the place. I'm sure that whatever you decide, you will have a great time.

I would also suggest Typhoon Lagoon. I think your family will enjoy it. I personlly enjoy the area rather than Blizzard Beach. Although most of the water slides at TL are smaller... and shorter other things make up for it. The wave pool is wonderful. The shark tank is also a very neat thing that i think you 8 1/2 year old will think is great too. The child area is also a great place. I remember being a little kid and spending hours there. I have the pictures to prove it:) The lazy river they have is also very good. Blizzard Beach has one also but i find the theme to be better at TL. As Trish said whatever you choose you will have a great time.

I have also stayed at both of the resorts you will be staying at. Trust me you WILL NOT be let-down. AKL is amazing. Your children will be dumb-founded.

I hope that your trip is a good one!!!
Have Fun!

we definately liked typhoon lagoon better than blizzard beach.

We liked the kids area better and the wave pool better.

We did not do Blizzard Beach but really enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon last summer. My daughter was 5 then and really enjoyed the wave pool, the kiddie area and some slides she was tall enough for. I could have sat in a tube and stayed on the lazy river all day long. I loved the tropical feel and enjoyed the amount of shade available.

Enjoy!

Help! We've decided to do TL over BB because my daughter wants to do the snorkeling thing. However, I just read somewhere today that you must be 10 to do this. No other books /sites have mentioned this. Please, someone - TELL ME THIS ISN"T SO!!! Any info would be so helpful - thanks for all of your great tips!

I do not recall seeing anything about age. My daughter decided last minute not to go, she did not like the mask. I do not think her age had anything to do with it. She was 5 at the time.

I was going to post this same question today! My kids are 4 and 8 and I read on here BB is the place to go but after reading my Passporter I thought TL sounded more like us.

Timbud- Passporter recommended the Shark tank for ages 6 and up and it's just a recommendation from what I understand.

Thanks guys!! My daughter got the Birnbaum's kid's guide, and it says "...must be at least ten years old". I got nervous, but I am not going to worry about it anymore. She's nine and a wimp about rides, so anything she's excited about excites me too!! Thanks again!
