Blizzard Beach tickets

Hi, we were considering going to Blizzard Beach during our trip next week, but we do not have the parkhopper and more option on our tickets. Will we be able to simply purchase the tickets at the gates? Also, how cold does it have to be before the waterparks close? Thanks!
