Blizzard Beach Summer?

Is there any hope at this point that Blizzard Beach will be also open in the summer with Typhoon Lagoon? We have a 3 night stay in July booked when our passes renew with the plans to add the water park pass on but if only one is open we will likely not do that, feeling frustrated as my kids love both so much and last year Blizzard was pretty crowded in the summer.

They haven't released their July calendar yet, so it's possible both will be open. However, they haven't had both of them open at the same time since the pandemic shut down the parks. It's possible both will be open, but I wouldn't plan on it until Disney says so.

If they don’t open blizzard beach by Memorial Day I have no hope. It’s stupid to not have them both open during the summer. We did blizzard last august and it was very crowded.

The rumor websites are now saying it may be down for the rest of the year for refurb I am so disappointed it won’t be open for our upcoming trip in May but it’s possible the rumors are wrong and it’ll open in the summer!

I don’t get this. They should discount the add on for water park if only one is ever gonna be open .

Saw a post that BB applied for a spot for cranes. Guess the W family is headed to TL for the first time.

Agree. Tickets in the UK used to show as 6 parks. Now Disney just say:

"Tickets will include admission to Disney's Blizzard Beach or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, whichever is open."

Almost like they wont be open at the same time. Yet ticket price is more than before

Good insight-numbed but a little relieved to not have to do winter/summer on the way out!

Honestly both only need to be open from May to Sept, that is peak water park season.

UGH ~ heading first week of June and want BLIZZARD BEACH! We are doing H2O at TL but that is really enough of TL, we are BB fans! They've had plenty of time to do any work, delaying it really diminishes the value of the water park add on.

I went and checked ~ a pile of permits for construction work on slides etc with end dates in Feb/March 2023.

There are two places to look - SFWMD when they are doing a new build and the Orange County Comptroller Document Search. Some is clear on the permit as to location, sometimes you have to look at address, sometimes all the documents are attached (they almost always are at SFWMD).

Give Volcano Bay a try. It's an amazing park, and huge! Very upscale water park imo.

We love Volcano Bay but right now Blizzard beach is the best for the heights of our kids since they have so little with height requirements unlike Volcano Bay is not really worth it till they are 42 inches at least.

As a UK visitor, probably doing my last ever WDW trip, I will be really annoyed if BB isn't open. We've done Typhoon Lagoon twice already, so was looking forward to our July trip to be able to finally do BB. If we don't do BB, we will probably end up going off-site another day. If I hadn't paid my balance this week, I might have been tempted to reduce my Disney stay by one day, and add another day on at Universal instead.

Seems we end up paying more for less at Disney, to the point where Universal is just a much more attractive option.

This June will be my family's first trip in 8 years and we're super disappointed that it doesn't seem BB will be open. I was constantly checking for updates but pretty much lost hope when I saw they had applied for permits for there.

I agree...no hope at this point. Feels very similar to last yr hoping for TL to open. They have proven they don't really have to do anything to get ppl. to come so why waste the money. They get to save on operating costs as opposed to just doing this during the regular refurbishment time.

Aerial photos show lots of different work locations and just 10 days ago this was the parking lot - full of slide pieces.
