Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

My DD4 and I are going to try a water park for the first time on our trip in August. Which park is better for a 4 year old? All we will do is the kiddie stuff and the lazy river. She's on the small side for 4, so we wouldn't be doing any of the big slides. I've heard BB does not have any sand, so I'm leaning that way. Any suggestions/information will be appreciated!

TL is much better for a young child. We just tried BB this summer for the first time with DD8 and DS4. He was a bit too old to enjoy the area for little kids and the other areas were too much for him. We spent the day in the wave pool.

Blizzard Beach was my kids favorite at age 5. Great play areas/pools with smaller slides, raft rides and the theming was more original.

Typhoon lagoon seems to me to be oriented more towards older kids, the wave pool is great but a small child will get easily picked up, sent a good distance and may get some not so nice scrapes from the bottom. My daughter was not thrilled and rather scared, it was not until years later that she really enjoyed this pool.

Definitely Blizzard Beach. They have 2 designated children's areas (one for little kids, one for pre-teens), and the wave pool isn't nearly so strong. When we were are TL last week, the guards had to rescue and adult who got knocked over by the waves. Cuts and scrapes are also very commom as the waves knock one down. It might not be that fun for a little kid. TL does have a children's area, but we haven't utilized it as mine are older.

I just returned and this time we were able to go to both waterparks where in the past we'd only been to Blizzard Beach. We absolutely love BB :). The kiddie area is great and as a previous poster said, they also have a pre-teen area.

However, for a young child Typhoon Lagoon is probably better. We weren't impressed at all with TL but the girls are 10 and the rides are not fast at all. The tube rides were quite slow and not very long. I think smaller children would enjoy. Even the family raft ride was very short - only a few turns. The wave pool was very fun and we spent a lot of our time there.

Another thought, TL seemed a lot less crowded. We visited both parks around the same time (3pm because they were filled to capacity and closed but reopened at 2pm) and we stayed until they closed at 7pm. BB was a lot more crowded even at closing time. People were still waiting to get on to the Summitt Plummit when we left.
