We are coming east to WDW in October for our 3rd Disney Cruise. We are an active family of 4 with 2 boys, 17 and 15. We could only spend 1 day at Disney before the cruise, so we decided to go to one of the waterparks but we don't know which one is best.

Which water park would you go to and can you tell me why? TIA !!

Blizzard Beach hands down! My main reason is it is so different and unique. They have been ranked 1st or 2nd in water parks for a while. Check the travel channel as they are frequently featured. They have the fastest slide period. The family raft ride is amazingly fun for everyone. There is just a huge selection of slides and whatnot. Typhoon Lagoon is fun too but everyone has a wave pool........the only thing you might really miss is the shark tank. It is neat but you only get to swim from one side to the other, you can't stop & it is cold. BB also has a large pool area but instead of waves it is choppy & rough, good for a tube. Check out the maps to get a better idea. Love it!

I'm sure that others will go back on forth on which one is best.

Regardless of your choice, be sure to arrive for rope drop at the park.

First, if you are one of the first families by the turnstiles you might get selected for a little special treatment. A family is chosen each day.

Second, the first 90 minutes in the park is glorious.................you can generally ride the rides back to back as fast as you can grab a tube and go to the top!

That big big slide at BB moves slow when the crowds build. If you decide on BB, hit that one first.

we choose typhoon lagoon because we *love* the swim w/the sharks... it's something you cannot do anywhere else!

I would have to choose BB. Not only is it the bigger park, it also features the better water slides, I think. We spent the entire day there and rode everything at least twice. The family raft ride is MUCH better at BB than at TL. While I have never ridden Summit Plummet (the big slide), the line does get long early and stays long. The lazy river is really long and there is a lot of room in it to not feel cramped!! The best part is when you go inside the cave!! Hands down, go to BB!!

BB - the slides are much better! IMO the wave pool and shark swim aren't worth missing the slides.

blizzard beach is best for action and slides-especially with kids your ages.
typhoon is better for little people.

Thanks everyone! Blizzard Beach it will be!

I did get the Travel Channel America's best Water Parks on our DVR. It only showed BB and not TL so I thought I should ask.

I appreciate your input! :flower3:

yeah definitely pick BLIZZARD BEACH its more for kids the ages of yours! they will :lovestruc it!

TL defo, The wave machine is brill!!
DW says BB, as she likes the Snow theme,

Just back, and we bought waterpark annual passes.
I had planned to do two days at each park (and then we will use them again next year before they expire)

My kids are 10, 13, 16 and they LOVED Typhoon Lagoon so much more than Blizzard Beach. In fact, we only went to BB one day, and went Typhoon Lagoon three full days and one additional evening.

They love the shark reef, it is great to do first thing, or you can "walk" right in after six PM (the park was open until 7:30 last week).

The wave pool is completely awesome, huge waves you can ride the whole way in. You can pose for fun phototpass photos of the wave about to crash over you. We used one for our Christmas card photo last year!

The water rollercoaster, Crush N Gusher is also a lot of fun and only at TL.

I think the slides are all a bit "rougher' at TL, there is no huge body slide like Summit Plummet, but the line for that is horrendous, even at rope drop! (it is really fun, but you have to do it right away and expect to wait even then)

my experience is that BB is for younger kids, and TL is for older ones!

Isn't BB closed then? When does it close for repairs?

I hit that submit button too soon.. :rolleyes1 I meant to add that I did not see any rehab schedule for BB for either October or November.
