Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon w/5yo

Trying to decide which one to go to with my 5yods. We've been to both in the past without ds. I kind of wanted typhoon lagoon as it has a more relaxing atmosphere however it seemed there might be more for ds at bb. which do you prefer and why?

You might not have a choice. Blizzard is the only one open till the end of March. Not sure if Typhoon will be opening on schedule.

Well, I hate the cold so I won't go to blizzard beach & be reminded of winter.

My just turned six year old nephew loved the shark reef at Typhoon Lagoon. The rest of it he liked just fine, but the snorkeling with the sharks was a big hit.

I personally am a bigger fan of Typhoon Lagoon. The wave pool is much better IMHO and there are plenty of things for young kids to do. The shark reek is great! Even if he doesn't want to swim he can go into the submarine to check it out the dry way.

Took our kids(13,8 and 5) to Typhoon Lagoon last trip and they loved it, especially the wave pool. We will definitley be returning this trip in August.

We've been to both and we all prefer TL over BB. They've already been planning on going to TL on our next trip in May. They didn't even mention BB.

The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is awesome, BUT it is not meant for a 5yr old. My girls found the children's selections at Blizzard Beach to be much better.
My youngest, 4 at the time love the Tike's Peak section and the way pool was manageable compared to Typhoon Lagoon. Also, the Teamboat Springs family raft ride was great for the family. Hit up youtube for some videos at both which may help you make your decision.

BB as the other poster said Jr area way better, wave pool much calmer & the Family raft ride at BB is the best.

I prefer Typhoon Lagoon. It has more for kids to do IMO. BB has loads of rides made for older kids and adults, and not really much for the younger ones compared to TL.

We're going to TL this October and I didn't even consider BB. TL is the best of all the water parks for me.

We have only been to TL and it was two times. Our 3 boys loved it at all ages esp my youngest who found the smaller children section so manageable at ages 3 and 6. Enjoy!

my kids 11,7 and 4 prefered BB especially the younger kids. They didn't feel safe in the wave pool at TL
