Blizzard Beach for us?

Need some advice from waterpark vets.

We've been to Typhoon Lagoon a handful of times, but never made it over to BB. In May we want to hit one of the waterparks. Our son, who will be 4, has been to TL before and had a blast. We'll also have a 2yo DD with us.

IMO, things in TL's favor would be the wave pool, new water "rollercoaster" opening this year (which DW and I would like to try), and we also enjoy the laid-back theming of TL.

We like the lazy river, too. My understanding is that both parks have their own version, but that TL's is a little better.

BB would obviously be new to us. And I've heard the children's play area is just as good at TL, if not better. But we're not big water slide fans (which seem to be the big draw at BB), and I'm assuming the kiddies are too young / small for any of the family raft rides (yes?)

So, is there anything else compelling enough at BB to sacrifice the wave pool at TL (which I just happen to think is really cool)?!?

The big draw at Blizzard Beach is/are the water slides and yes, your munchkins are probably too short for the family raft ride- I was rather suprised by the height limit on it. The lazy river was kind of neat(except for the cold cavern, ice water-brrrrr). We, as adults, really enjoyed the slides we did but will hit Typhoon Lagoon before doing Blizzard Beach again. I don't know what your home resort is or where your ressies are but have you considered hopping to try the new slide at OKW or maybe the pool at SSR. The zero entry and little slide at SSR are supposed to be quite vertically challenged friendly. I know we are staying at OKW and SSR this year and am hoping for BWV or BCV for Oct but know they are going to be rather tough at the 7 month window. I actually am more interested in Luna Park than Stormalong Bay but I like the slides.

Looked at your alias and see that you are SSR people so you probably already know all about that pool. Let me know how you like Luna Park.

We've been to TL many, many times but have only chosen to go to BB once. We much prefer TL and it sounds like you would too.

If you only have one day for a water park, stick with TL.

Thanks for the replies so far. Keep 'em coming!

We stayed at SSR back in December and had a great time. In my opinion, the main slide at SSR is one of the best--lots of great twists and turns. I slid so far up the flume on the last turn that I thought I was going to come out and do a belly-flop in the main pool. :)

Of course Luna Park is excellent, too. No complaints regarding either.

We don't hit the water parks every trip. But with the new DVC discount on the APs, we should be able to upgrade our existing vanilla APs to PAPs at no charge. That fact combined with my determination to actually slow down this trip means we really need to get over to one of the waterparks. But you'll catch us at Luna Park on more than one occasion, too. ;)
