Every time I go to Disney World I get 4 or 5 blisters on my feet. Does this happen to anyone else? If so, what do you do? It becomes very painful to walk around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:(

Moleskin!!!

You can put it on your rubbed areas of skin OR you can put it in your shoes to ward off the blisters before they start!

Moleskin is the best foot care item ever invented and I take an entire package with me to DisneyWorld. Haven't had a blister since discovering the stuff!

Good luck and..........
happy walking!

I remembered reading about moleskin here on the DIS and took some on my 2-wk trip to Europe. Man, did I ever save the day! I was like the group mom handing that stuff out. I got the sheets of it and carried around tiny scissors to cut it. Good stuff!

Of course, a better idea would have been to NOT buy shoes right before leaving, but oh well.

Oh yeah, moleskins do the trick! Every time I go to Disneyland, I get God awful blisters. Somebody suggested moleskins so I bought two packages and took them with me last February. As soon as I felt a tender spot, I put the moleskin on before it turned into a blister. It TOTALLY worked! My partner used them as well and had great success too. At one point, I had moleskins on five different locations on my feet, and since I wear sandles, it looked a little funny, but it totally worked. The stuff even works on toes and other hard to treat areas. I'm telling you, you never have to have another blister again. Take the stuff with you to the park along with a small pair of scissors and as soon as you feel discomfort, stop and put the moleskin on!

Good luck! :)

I don't think I have seen moleskin here in Canada. Is it like a bandaid?

I agree with the moleskin, but also would like to add that many people make the mistake of buying brand new shoes for a vacation. This usually is why they end up having blisters and sore feet.

So, my advice is to bring at least 2 pairs of comfortable, well-broken-in shoes and moleskin (just in case)...

I get blisters with all my shoes, even my well worn ones. Just depends on your feet I think. :)

I bring a tube of Deisitin and rub it on my feet and toes before I put my socks and shoes on. It works great! No blisters!! :)

I always get blisters. I read all the tips and threads about blisters trying to avoid them.

I've tried buying the right walking sneakers with the right kind of socks (absorbs moisture) but that didn't work. I also tried spraying anti-persperant or baby powder on my feet before putting on my socks. Didn't help me.

The only thing that has helped me ALOT are moleskins to prevent or treat them and wearing sandals instead of sneakers. I just can't take the heat and bunching up that happens with socks/sneakers but it took 5 WDW trips to realize it!

I also soak my feet at night and take motrin daily (for aches and swollen feet).

I also bring a nice Pepermint foot cream to put on my feet before bed each night.

Moleskin is a really thick flannel-like material that comes in little sheets or in a roll. One side has adhesive on it. You cut it to the shape you need and then peel off the backing and apply it to your skin. It sticks much much better than a bandaid and helps to prevent the friction that causes foot blisters. The brand I buy is Dr. Scholl's, and it is found with all the other Dr. Scholl's shoe inserts, foot supplies, etc.

I used to get horrible blisters. Now I have found the best socks and shoes for my feet, and from day one while I am at WDW I apply moleskin to the blister-prone spots on my feet. I rarely get blisters anymore.

I read on Deb's site to spray deodorant spray on your feet at the beginning of the day before you do all your walking and you won't get blisters. I've done that and haven't had any blisters.

I've done the anti-perspirant thing, too, with great success.

Also helpful are this Dr. Scholl's product:

They are helpful in preventing and also in comforting blisters that have already begun.

It is definitely available in Canada....I got it in Quebec, and if I got it there, it should be in the rest of the country.

it comes in a flat package, and it looks like a skin colored piece of felt with adhesive backing.

Blister Block by Bandaid is tghe only thing that works for me. You can purchase it at drug stores or discount stoares.

herc.
