Blister on DS tongue

My DS is almost 15 months and the other day we noticed the side of his tongue was a reddish brown color and we thought it was from him grinding his teeth. But then last night I realized it was on both sides and this morning when we were grocery shopping I saw that he has a blister on his tongue as well and he didn't have anything hot that could have burned it. Does anyone know what this could be?

Thrush perhaps? Take him to the Dr to find out for sure.

When my youngest son was about that age he developed blisters on his tongue and the back of his throat. Turned out it was the Coxsackie virus.....very common in babies and toddlers and it has to run its course.
