Have you ever noticed that when some Southern people say something negative they will add, "Bless her heart" after it, to soften it? For example, "She has very unfortunate skin, bless her heart!", or "Those are some hideous shoes, bless your heart". It really cracks me up!!
Anyone else notice this?

Awfully kind, your Gram was. I don't think if I failed my math test or totaled my car that my granny woudl have said, "Bless your heart afterward". She'd have a lot of other things to say, but not that!
