I learned something yesterday. Restaraunt food is Blechy! DS gave us great news when he returned from school yesterday. He is getting 4 A's and (He thinks) 2 B's. This is a battle we have been fighting his whole school career. {Smart as a whip, but deems work beneath him, so tends to get A's (when he does his work) or E's (when he refuses). So he's been a C student.} Anyway, it seems he sees the light and is doing the work. We decided to give him a treat and go to his favorite (local) eatery.
We were all excited, as we haven't eaten out in over a month. What a treat!
OMG! The food was LOADED with salt. (DUH!
) We didn't finish our food, and I was sick all night! This A.M. I feel like a grape with the skin about to split!
I'm glad it happened though. My weight loss has been progressing at a snails pace, but I am learning and (I hope) developing life long healthy habits from experiences like these. I could get all depressed and say "waaaa! I did a bad thing." But, I'm thinking of this a positive, because I no longer have the feeling that I'm depriving myself of things I love. These little setbacks have a way of changing my perspective on things.
I know this is kind of a long post, but has anyone else incorporated their "failures" into positive new approaches? What have you learned?
Keep the Faith!
