The Inspiration Board is where I started my posting. I didn't have the nerve to go to RADP but I did lurk a bit.

I lurked at some other sites too but never joined the Clubhouse. It was interesting to hear the stories about what went on back then though. Does anyone know what became of Rita Aero?

I was a lurker at RADP but did post on the AOL boards as far back as 1998 or 1999 maybe. Even attended one small RADP meet in the parks once.

Only names I remember from AOL are FirstNo (Noel), TinyBeetle and something like SueWDW1972. Other names may come back to me now that you are making me think. lol

Had also visited Rita Aero's site, but wasn't around at the end. Crazy stuff.

Anyone that hung out on AOL, do you remember Noel (FirstNo), Sue (WDW1972), Judy from Maryland who stayed at the Grand and had the first dinner on the yacht at WDW, JE118 , Cruella (Nancy from New Orleans area and a nurse who went out with Gene Simmons), Debbie from TX that was a town council person in the Ft. Worth area, JanInWa? We were all on a private forum together off AOL and haven't heard from them in years except JE.

I may have been on that private board with you? Remember MPepe (Maria?) JudFud (Judy)? Cruella sounds so familiar, too..... As does JE118.....

Noel was a reservationist at SOD, back then, right? I liked Noel, so much. I was banned with her, JudFud - and 2 other people - following that Mona incident. Remember Mona had "sob storied" a LOT of people into sending her thousands and thousands.

I met JaninWa for a meet, over by Rock & Roller Coaster - I even rode it with her. Then I headed over to Boardwalk, via boat, and met a bunch of AOL'ers. I still have that picture. I should post it.

One girl was a moderator, I can't even think of who else. I'm pretty sure I met Ronda (who is still on these boards), too. I think??

ETA - I was "LIPSTIX" Ha! LOL! It was a makeup thing... looks so naughty, now.

Hey, I was banned too! And I do know what the scuttle was with Jan in WA. I was one of the ones that started the private group. MauOB was there too and Judi (IMBE) Debbie was DJEV. It's coming back to me. I don't remember the name I went by, probably dabmusic. I was stuck in Oklahoma at the time.

Ronda was from MA and ended up in the hospital at WDW I believe. Yes Noel was a reservationist at SOG after just getting out of the Air Force. She got me the perfect room at SOG years ago. Nancy was a nurse in the New Orleans area (Cruella). I honestly can't remember if I was dabmusic, sasywtch or ???. I was stuck in Oklahoma is all I remember

I met Sue in Hilton Head about 10 years ago.

Maybe that is why I never joined RADP. Really though I was confused by the layout. It was very old school looking.

I hate to tell you, but back in '99, that was still new school

Did anyone frequent the Prodigy boards or was AOL that dominant? Am I the only one?

I certainly remember Sue - WDW1972. She used to post very regularly on the DVC AOL boards. She was always at WDW and posted trip reports. Does anyone know if she is on these boards now?

I also remember a Barb (Disnyworld) and a Donna (from Pennsylvannia?) and a Harold. Other names are escaping me...

Are the AOL boards even around anymore?

Ok...so what was the Rita Aero thing? Was there a story behind this? Didn't she write a WDW travel book? Was there some other controversy?

I do remember a service that would help you get the Cinderella breakfast in the castle. Was that part of RADP?

TinyBeetle! Denise???? I think?? She sent me a few of those glasses from the Osborne Lights that would turn the Christmas Lights into Angels! I still have them, and whip them out every Christmas!! Then she sent me the snowflake ones, when they changed them!

Remember there was an older lady. She passed away, and we got her one of those bricks outside the MK, in her honor. Anyone remember that? Nana-something, maybe? I remember we had these really silly titles, and goofy signatures to go along with them, and she couldn't get hers working. I asked her "Do you trust me, with your login?" and she gave me her login and password, and I remember setting up her super sparkly, fancy-schmancy signature and she was SO grateful! It was so cute!

I got banned for another reason but got let back on. It was the AOL boards. According to Ronda (HI RONDA!!!!!!), I was dabmusic back then.

I was getting Judfud and Cheryl mixed up earlier. Cheryl is Cheryl407.

It was me, IMBE, JE118, DJEV, WDW1972 (sue), FirstNo, JanInWA that started up the private board originally. IMBE and I were very close, her husband called me the minute she got out of surgery but stuff happens.

Thanks, I knew it either had to be Dab or Sasy. I went over to the RADP boards and saw Sue had just done a trip report. Luv ya Sue if you are reading but 1 pretzel for dinner and breakfast??? and the biggest fan of Layden.

Great Memories!

I started on RADP back in 1996 - was even at the RADP "Toad-In" - the day the attraction closed and was among the last 50 to ride Toad - along with Deb Wills. We went to several RADP meets (the forerunner of the MouseFest programs).

I was at the Toad-In, too.

JudySue and I were both on RAD prior to the split into five parts. I remained fairly active on RADP until only a few months ago.

It happened that several of our trips to WDW happened at the same time as the Toad-Ins. At the last one Judy was wearing green nail polish and was quoted in the Sentinel article about it.

And I was the designer of the original "triple @ symbol" RADP emblem and distributor of the free buttons (until we were told by Disney Legal that they were an infringement).

I still have a "Goodbye Michael, Bring Back Roy" bumper sticker, too. Both in my Disney Cabinet.

ETA - I totally remember that @ Mickey head thing. I remember everyone saying "I bet you anything, Disney is going to start using that, now...." Gosh, this thread has really jogged my memory!

I was all over Usenet back in the day (even met my girlfriend through my very first post on Usenet, on rec.pets.cats, but that is a different story), including RADP.

I remember Sam the bartender, PaulT, Bicker with his ¤'s.

We drove up for the 2000 get-together. I remember being thrilled to meet Rita Aero and Deb Wills (and running into Deb Wills a year later while up on another Disney trip with another friend, and meeting Deb and her partner for drinks that night at the Animal Kingdom lounge), and some of the other people I had been "discussing" with.

I remember there was a lot of fun involving a whiteboard because whiteboards were being discussed on the group for some reason.

I even remember meeting fellow posters at Epcot near Mexico the day before the big meet.

I remember the evening at The Adventurer's Club and the group ride on the Rockin' Rollercoaster.

I was using the same nick that I do now, and my real name is still Evan.

Hard to believe that was ten years ago!

I was a contributor to that book. Wasn't part of the FBI silliness.

My first rec.arts.disney.parks message was in 1987, back when it was net.disney, I believe.

I had that book, Bicker. I may have told you that. I think I donated it to the library's used book sale because I seem to collect Disney Guidebooks. That one was different though.

It was the pre-diet photo of Bicker--back when ate biscuits and gravy!
