Bland Meals at WDW

Hey all,

My wife and I are the ultimate Bland Meals type. No Sauce, No Butter, this is normally where someone would say "No flavour!" but it is how we are, and probably why we are such a good fit!

I have the Dining Plan but I will probably be sticking to the Character Buffets where I know what I'm getting.

However I was wondering in Quick Service, Table Resturants, and Signiture Dining Restuarnts can you be fussy with what is on the menu? Say a Deluxe Hamburger from a quick service or table service, can you ask the server for just a hamburger: meat and bun only, ala McDonalds?
Or Can you ask in the fancy resturants for a Steak without all the trimmings and sauces? I know it is probably not the most cost effective thing, but Disney I hear do a good job if you have allergies, but how about if your just plain fussy and bland?

I know normally you can ask in resturants (they might not like it) but the reason I ask is that I hear around these boards that now with the Dining Plan it is more assembly line type food, almost pre made.

We are looking for somewhere special for a resturant on our 5th Wedding Anniversary in February at WDW, I saw some nice places that are ultra romantic but the menu is strange (for us!)

As far as plain burgers Pecos Bills, Cosmic Rays they all have toppings bars so your burgers will come plain, you add what you want

For sit down restaurants WDW is known for its service, if you let your server know up front you will need help in leaving off sauces and such they shouldnt have a problem.,

I know that at the signatures they will absolutly make a meal that is to your liking and will have no problem removing sauces if that is what it takes to make your meal enjoyable.

Honestly, Chefs was so bland that I salted everything and I never use salts or seasonings. We ate there 12/17/09 for the CP (waste of 2 TS credits!) and were disappointed because nothing had any flavor. See wdwinfo reviews for the full story.

If I was unsure of a sauce, I have asked for it on the side and it was always accomodated.

I have tried this in Australia once, didn't end well. But in Australia we do not have a tipping system so in the USA they want everyone to be happy for the nice tip at the very least!. I might try a Signature Resturant as I really want it to be a romantic dinner. I think I will push them to see how bland they can make their food! Thanks again.
