I am about 8-9 weeks along now and I have been getting progressively sicker for the past 2 weeks. It didn't start out too bad but then each day I felt more sick and it seemed to last longer. I have been having 24 hour "morning" sickness for the past 5-6 days! Blah! I really don't feel very good and I am praying that it goes away soon. I was not sick at all with DS so this has been a bit of a shock for me...I was hoping I would have the same good luck. It is hard to be so sick when you have a 2 year old to take care of. Why couldn't I have been sick the first time around when I had the luxury of just laying around and whining? ;)

ooooooo, I've been there.

Lemonade and gingersnaps were the only things I could eat for my first trimester!:crazy2:

Hang in there!

Try eating small amounts often - even if it's just a few crackers.

When I was sick with my son everyone told me morning sickness was a sign of a healthy pregnancy. I know that doesn't make you feel any better. It won't last very every and soon you will be holding your new bundle of joy.

Congrats on your pg! MS sucks for sure. I was sick and throwing up the whole time my last pg.

All I can do is say that I feel you pain and that it will end. I had 24/7 "morning" sickness for 4 months with each of my 3 kids. The worst part is early on when you aren't telling anyone you're pregnant, and have to come to work sick every single day and suffer in silence...oh the joys of throwing up in a public rest room...one time I had to fill in for a friend at a client lunch because his stomach was "a little upset." We were seated next to the seafood buffet and I thought I was going to lose it right then.

I always said that if men had the symptoms of pregnancy, they'd all be hositalized (and ceratainly wouldn't work!)

I lived on sherbert and developed an aversion to Chinese food that lasted for years!

Best wishes to you!

I was sick often both of mine, lasted the entire pregnancy. With the first I kept thinking it would end soon but with the second I didn't have any such expectations and I wasn't disappointed.

I hope yours is shortlived and you feel better soon!

Hey! I must have missed the pregnancy announcment...I didn't even know you were pregnant again...CONGRATS!!!

As for the morning sickness...I still stick by my Sprite and Saltines :)

Try pink lemonade or even those sea bands that you wear on your wrist. I sympathize with you, I was the same with all my pregnancies. Oh, and congratulations!

Oh becka, I feel for you! I actually lost weight during my first trimester because I threw up so much. The first time in my life a Dr. tells me it's OK to gain weight, and I lose!

It always ran the same pattern. I'd throw up breakfast and dinner, but kept lunch down just fine. I even had to pull over some mornings on the way to work so I could throw up. Sometimes I'd cry because I thought it'd just never stop. I made sure I ate as nutritiously at lunch as I could, and tried some crackers/warm soda at other times during the day. This went on for four months and then just stopped. Dr. tried Phenergan to combat the nausea, but it made me beyond exhausted, so I only took it before dinner. Didn't help much.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well, especially with a wee one around. Taking care of a two year old is very hard work. I do hope you'll be feeling better soon and that you have a happy, healthy pregnancy and baby-bundle!:)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I have been there twice with the all day sickness, and the last time what helped me were Preggie Pops. There is a website I think called www.preggiepops.com where you can buy them. They are lollipops that ease nausea. Sounds crazy but they really work. Give them a try!

Oh, I remember being sick more often than not. I hope this ends soon for you.

Becka,

As melk mentioned earlier in this thread, get yourself a set of sea bands. If you're not familiar with them, they are elasticized wrist bands that apply pressure to a spot on your inner wrist that helps control nausea. I first used them during my second pregnancy and they worked wonders. I wish I had known about them during my first. You can find them at any drug store or even at Wal-Mart or Target.

I hope you feel better real soon.

What wonderful news!! (Not about your morning sickness, but about your pregnancy!! :teeth: )

Hope you feel better soon. (Get some gingersnaps!)

 I'm sorry, Becka. I hope it passes soon.

BTW, Congratulations.....:D

I've asked the same question with all four of my pregnancies. Different things helped with different pregnancies. Some of the highlights were lemon drops, flavored soda water, ginger ale, Boston Market mased potatoes, and ramen noodles without the flavor packet. The seasick bands never worked for me (though I tried them every time since so many others I know had success with them), BUT they did keep my wrists from getting cold while I clutched the toilet bowl. (I always try to look for the 'funny' in any tough situation) :D
Congrats on the pregnancy and I hope it eases up soon.

I had more morning sickness with my daughter than with my 2 sons. The doctor had to give me medication for it. I was sick the whole 9 months with my DD, but only 3 months with the boys. There are safe medications out there if you need them. CONGRATS!!!!

I was sick 24/7 with both of my pregnancies Like 100% Disney, my doctor also gave me some anti-nausea medications that really help and they are safe. Unfortunately, while pregnant, I *had* to go to work and there was no way that I could not go. With the nausea I had, I barely slept, I was shaky and couldn't function. The medication was a godsend. I was "lucky" in that my morning sickness only lasted up to my sixth month (I kept hearing that it stops after 12 weeks--ha!!).
