I planned to go to DL on Friday next week (the 16th) but the weather forecasts a high of 60 with a 60% chance of rain. This is not doable for me. I'm from Phoenix and I don't like rainy and cold. But is it still too early to call it off? Here if the forecast listed rain a week ahead 9 times out of 10 it's not going to rain but I'm not familiar enough with Anaheim weather to know if this is legit. I've gone to DLR this time of year several times and weather was always great.
Thoughts?

I don’t know SoCal weather patterns either but I know our normally predictable NorCal weather has been, well, unpredictable. Yesterday’s forecast called for rain tomorrow now it’s not. I think it’s probably too early to tell

A week out forecast usually changes quite a bit. I don't really believe anything they say until about 2 days out and even then, it's often wrong. I wouldn't change any plans at this time.

I've noticed the same thing...the weather seems rather unpredictable (throughout the state!). When I'm heading down to LA, I tend to look at several sites to get a sense of what the weather could be. For example, I looked at Weather.com and it has the 60/60% chance of rain forecast, but Accuweather has 67/25%. When there is that much split, my inclination is to say that they don't really have a good sense of what is happening that far out (yet). So, as others have said, I wouldn't put too much stock in the 10-day forecasts at this point...the one or two day forecasts, yes (with limits), but not much more than that.

I don't live in socal but I've visited a few times with rain in the forecast. Only once did it actually materialize during park hours and even that time it was like a light misting for about an hour in the morning. If you get a day or two away from your date and the forecast still shows rain, take a look at the hourly predictions. Often the rain is at like 3am and doesn't affect park time at all.

I don't 'bank' on the weather until 48 hours before, and even then it may change.

I don't like the cold or rain either, but I can deal when I'm at DL unless it's a downpour. 60% chance of rain in So Cal in Spring usually means intermittent showers as opposed to a continuous rainstorm. Invest in a rainproof poncho or good jacket and some waterproof shoes. I find that we move around too much to really get cold, plus rainproof stuff tends to also hold in body warmth.

Not sure what weather site you're using but I find that wunderground.com tends to be the most reliable. You can choose weather station location, too, which is helpful because some weather sites show weather in 'the area' but not that close to DL.

I actually check the weather constantly when i am going to be there. In December it kept saying some rain for like two days up to one week before and it ended up being very nice 70 degrees and more.
Just because it shows it will rain it does not mean it will rain all day or hard. I would still go no matter what the weather is.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I will definitely avoid making any big decisions until the day gets closer. :)

The forecast changed daily until we were there last week, and then hourly while we were there on the days for which occasional showers were expected. Despite forecasts of rain for most of Friday, only the evening was a problem. I had a Totes poncho which worked well, and most of my companions had raincoats. The other member of our party got a Disney poncho. We all put sweatshirts on for the WOC show (which was cancelled not due to the previous rain but because of a technical problem which was probably fixed for the second show that evening, but we didn't want to wait).

The Disney poncho was laid out on the ground during the Fantasmic show. When a child behind us spilled some sticky drink, that went under the poncho instead of on us or our Blue Bayou dinner package cushions.

I had a planned to go last week. when I made the reservation the long range weather forecast for the week was mid 70's.

as it got closer it got colder and wetter. I cancelled the reservation Sunday afternoon the day before I was supposed to go.

if I was going with someone, I would have gone. since it was a solo trip, I didn't want to drive 8 hours for the same weather at home.

It was supposed to rain several days this week. It didn't. My husband and I are also planning to go next Friday for a "date day" to check out F&W Festival. I saw a 30% chance of rain, which basically means a 0% chance this far out.

We will still go in the rain. It likely won't be torrential downpour, more like scattered sprinkles. 60 degrees is PERFECT weather for the parks, IMO.

I've been obsessively watching the weather for next week. To give you a taste OP I'll use Sun as an example. Sun is less than 48 hours from now. As of this morning it was raining Sunday according to the weather channel app, as of right now Sun is sunny/cloudy mix with maybe a 20% chance percip. Over the last week I have seen Sun alone change from steady rain to nothing to light rain to light rain during just the morning and back again. The forecasters are having an awful time predicting CA weather right now, even close in.

I've been going back and forth with this also and it's driving me crazy! I'll be at DL the end of next week too and I'm getting conflicting weather reports. My phone tells me that it's going to be rainy and low 60s, but Accuweather says just partly cloudy and in the 70s. I'm hoping that Accuweather lives up to it's name and that's the more accurate forecast. I kind of hate planning trips this time of year for this reason (really unpredictable weather), but it is what it is.

I was at Disneyland last Friday and Saturday, and the forecast called for some chance of rain between 10am to 2pm on Saturday. Even on Saturday morning, the hours kept changing. At the end of it all, it rained for a short time around 5pm, and that was it.

We're heading to the parks today and hoping for rain! Got the rain gear ready to go. :) We'll see what actually happens...

Alice in Wonderland will be closed too. That and the teacups are the two that always close at the tiniest inkling of rain.
