I'm thinking about getting a Blackberry Pearl next week when I'm eligible for an upgrade. They are available for .99, so that's why I'm planning on going with the Pearl. I've never had a smart phone before, and before I make the extra $20 a month investment, I really want to be sure I'll like it. Anybody have any opinions on this phone?

I just got a blackberry pearl about 3 weeks ago & I've never had a smartphone before. I absolutely love it & I'm not really sure how I ever lived without it. Seriously!

I've had mine since it came out 3 years ago. I've been eligible for an upgrade for months, and have yet to move on from the Pearl. I'm at the point where I need to move on--I've worn out the camera, and the trackball needs to be air blasted at least 3 times a week.

I think I'll probably just end up with the Pearl in a different color. The reason I got it in the first place was for the options. I did it so I wasn't rushing out to buy the I-pod. I have 4g media card in it, so it was perfect for a while with holding music and photos. Plus, now there's tons of mobile applications.

Yes I'm a Crackberry addict! I don't know how I ever lived without it. The Pearl is the size of a normal cell phone. Which makes it so portable. I'm on limited internet access at work, it's so nice to catch up on things sitting outside during my lunch hour. It'll definitely be worth getting.

I have my BB Pearl since August of last year. One of the main reasons I chose it was the GPS. Learning the keyboard is interesting - it's not a standard telephone pad and it's not a full QWERTY. Smart-Type, which I have turned on, can be a hinderance if you text a lot.

I'm with AT&T and did not have to buy a data plan, but paid by use for the first few months. I used MediaNet (browser) sparingly to check my mobile email from Comcast and the weather. In Feb. I upgraded to the BB data plan. Now I access the internet whenever I feel like, without worry that it will be costing me extra. I use Google, GoogleMaps, The Weather Channel and my email.

I had the BB pearl and liked it, I just switched to the BB Curve, because I love the full keyboard. I love it, and cannot see not having a BB anymore.

I have had the blackberry pearl for a year now and while I love it .....I have had serious problems with the track ball. Both my husband I have had our phones replaced because they stopped working. When that happens you can't access anything on your phone really! But I do love it so maybe you should think of purchasing the extra insurance on it so you won't have to worry about it. I say go for it, I couldn't live without mine!
