Blackberry Curve Users-Email question

So, I thought the point of having a Blackberry was always being connected? I find I am not getting alerts for emails when they come in when I am at work or out and about. If I went by my Blackberry, I would think I have no emails. Then, when I get home, all the alerts come in for email that I have received that day-some of which I've already seen, read and deleted or else I log in to my computer and see that I have emails.

It bothers me because on my older simpler phone, I always got email alerts no matter where I was and this doesn't seem to be working.

I have Verizon, if that changes anything. Does anyone else have this issue? I asked another teacher, and she said she gets her alerts. I know my alerts are turned on because as I said, I get them at home.

You have to change your home email account to "leave emails on the server". If you go to your email account settings it will be in there.

Where do I do that? I have Yahoo...I went under options, but didn't see anything.

Blackberry has been having email issues for a while now especially on the Verizon network.

I am not very tech savvy for a lot of these things (I got my previous answer from someone here for when I had a Curve) . I guess I just assumed you had an iSP type email. See the above link. That could also be why your coworkers get email and you don't--are they using Yahoo or something else.

BTW, I HATED my curve-gave me nothing but problems...I was able to trade it in for a Droid X and it is SO much easier.
