Black Rapid + tripod?

Hey gang,

I'm wondering if anyone could offer me any assistance. I just purchased a Black Rapid Curve strap for my camera. I love it, but the only drawback is having to completely remove the strap in order to attach a tripod plate and vice versa.

It's my understanding that there is a Black Rapid adapter that will work with a manfrotto plate, but can anyone tell me specifically what I need to get? All I really want is a travel tripod.

Any help (and links!) would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the connector that is used with the Manfrotto quick release plate.

The BR connectors can sometimes be inconvenient. I just disconnect my battery grip and mount the camera or I undo the extra connector on my lens tripod collar and mount it there.

People would just keep the Manfrotto plate mounted to the camera and attach the Blackrapid strap to the D ring on the bottom of the plate. When they want to put the camera on the tripod, just unclip the strap. The Manfrotto D ring is a thin metal wire that will bend with a load and eventually fall out.

The Blackrapid adapter will replace the screw that is in the plate, and the D ring below it that helps you screw it on. Basically, it's a beefier screw and D ring to handle the load of the camera hanging from it. This is the setup I have for my camera and the plate never leaves the camera. I have a Nikon D600 with a battery grip.

One more thing you have to remember, is that the Manfrotto plate only works with Manfrotto tripod heads.
