Black Friday-Please deals only....

While not a door buster, I was just able to buy the Graco Turbobooster for $29.99 on Target online. It is unavailable online (or at least the boy color was) but I could do store pick up. Total bonus, now I don't have to lug it around the store and this was one thing I really wanted/ needed from their ad. I have 4 days to get it, so if the line at customer service is nuts tomorrow, I can go later in the weekend. They also had the RC Monster Truck that is half off, but I ended up taking it out of my cart.

I'm not sure? Does it start Friday at midnight?

Another question...I just ordered something for instore pickup. I've had a problem before with my order being cancelled saying they were out of stock. Should my order be pulled before they open the doors?

Uh-oh. This might affect my carseat. Ack!

I think I'm going to give up and go to bed. I bought a pre-black Friday sale almost as good item in case I couldn't get this specific one. I know the one I want will be long gone by morning, but I'm too tired to play the game anymore! Good luck! I hope you get what you want!

I gave up and went to bed and when I got up this morning the website was down, but a little while later when it came back up, the item was still there and available! I figured it would be long gone. Guess i should have just gone to bed earlier.

Well my Target in store pickup order got cancelled. I had a feeling it would. Glad I ordered the same item from Best Buy for the same price. The Best Buy order has already shipped.

Bummer! I was able to pick up my car seat last night. My target was super organized. I went back this morning for the gift card deal and it was only slightly busier than normal. I heard a manager say last night sales were way down. This was at about 8, so only two hours in. But I think the dinner time openings might turn out to not be a good idea.

Same thing at Sears last night sales clerk was saying it was a ghost town

More Turkey, Less Shopping

I hit up our local Walmart looking for the $10 Play doh set and the $5 Monster High dolls. While there were plenty of TV's and other big doorbusters, no Play doh to be found. LOL. I found three MH dolls randomly discarded around the store. I picked up one of the 32" TV's for $98 for the bedroom. I would have liked to get the 40" for $115 last week, but they never got any more after the first day. Bought the Skylanders Trap Team figures for $9 on Amazon with free shipping with Prime. Went to BBW for Wallflowers (ended up getting the 2pk for 2.50 each after coupons), then on to Target for Christmas jammies for the kids. Started around 11pm, got home at 2am.

Did all this after leaving my husband's bedside. He was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia after working on Thanksgiving day. I was just running on adrenaline, and Starbucks!

Bitty246, I hope things are getting better for you and your family!! :goodvibes

I woke up @ 6:30a on Thursday and checked on Target.com. Something I wanted was sold out but I ordered other items for store pickup and they were ready later in the day when they opened. I was thinking that the store pickup option would be a back up in case the items sold out but it doesn't appear Target is very good at pulling those items out and holding on to them for an order. So, I ended up going to the store anyway. Got there at 5:30p and they were lined up down the sidewalk. I have been to Walmart for BF and Target was so organized and had employees wearing security vests, it was nothing like the chaos of Walmart! I went straight up to the item i wanted, grabbed it, picked up a few dvds on the way up to the register, and I was back in my car @ 6:13p. DH was impressed. I was shocked to be in and out so fast. I don't think what I wanted was very popular. Most people were there for television sets.

We ended up at Target about 8 pm. It was a ghost town. Funny, our store had stacks of TVs every where. No one seemed interested in buying them at all.

I made this same comment to DH. We were at Walmart for the first sale at 6 pm. It was crowded but nothing like usual for a BF. Honestly most of the congestion was in the main aisles where Walmart had put so much merchandise you couldn't get around it. Checkout lines weren't backed up at all.

Best Buy and Target were ghost towns by 8 pm. The only really crowded store we went to was Kohl's and I wish I hadn't gone there. People were so rude. Their checkout process is really slow too. You'd think they'd figure out a faster way to get people through the lines.

I stopped at Walmart right around 6 on my way to Thanksgiving dinner. It was mobbed but mainly, as you said, because of the stuff being in the middle of the aisles. It was almost impossible to navigate. Everyone seemed to have tvs in their cart.

On my way home I stopped at Target, Best Buy, and Walmart. This was around 9PM. Best Buy was still very busy, but you could find parking. Target was busy. The line snaked through the cosmetics section (up and down five or six aisles). Walmart was somewhat busy.

I think with gas prices having fallen as much as they have, holiday sales will be up. Not sure how much of that occurred on BF.

The only shopping I did was picking up Target gift cards (10% off) and participating in Small Business Saturday ($90 of free stuff!). I did do a lot of shop kicking and got another $25 disney gift card for our spring break trip.

I decided Saturday that I might want one of the iPad mini's Target had and figured I was out of luck. It said one store by me had "limited availability" which usually means they don't have any. I went anyway and don't you know I got the last one. After tax and the $80 gift card it was $170 so not too bad of a deal. The Meijer deal would have been better, but Saturday night at 6pm you can't complain.
