Congrats to everyone!!! This may just be my motivator to get on the treadmill. I was just thinking that I might take the day off since I have been working around the house and yard and I am a little upset with the town's soccer program...they screwed up my son's registration!!!!!!! OK, I am babbling, but I'm gonna get on the treadmill now..........:)
 
Way to go Black Team!! Great job! I hope I can join you all with your losses next week! I did 25 minutes of running last night and this afternoon, despite a HORRIBLE chocolate craving (and a vending machine mere footsteps away) I managed to eat my nectarine and NOT chocolate!! A little cheer for myself! :cheer2:
 
YEAH for us! I got in a 20 minute walk today and plan on my normal 40 minute date with the elliptical this evening. still staying within my calorie goal and exercise has not lapsed. I'm having a big party at my house this Saturday. I'm cooking fajitas, etc., and I do plan to indulge, but I'm sure to get my exercise in before the party starts. Hopefully with a sensible breakfast, I should be impacted by the yummy party food.

Checking in late here - I lost some time this week. No loss, no gain. I did a bit better this week with portion control, avoiding night time snacking, and avoiding fast food. Did not do much exercise though and did not drink much water. I will definitely do the challenge starting tomorrow. I'm traveling next week, so that will be an extra difficult week, but I have a plan and I am even going to use the hotel gym. :cool2: That won't be until after our next weigh in, but I wanted to think ahead.
 
WAY TO GO TEAM!

Just finished 40 minutes on the treadmill. Hopefully my daily exercise will balance out my not-so-great food choices for the first part of the week. I'm vowing to stay strong this weekend despite the temptation for pizza and wings while watching football.

Good Morning everyone!!! Hope everyone is well!!! Sad to say I did not work out yesterday--my heel was hurting so no walking for me... It is better today so DH and I will workout tonight.

Hi Black Team,

I got lucky and was placed on the black team today. My name is Amanda and I just joined today. I am 39(yikes). I would like to lose about 180lbs. I've lost 18 pounds over the last 6 weeks. I changed jobs and am no longer chained to a desk. My sister and i are doing the tower of terror 6.5k in october. I accept the challenge for this week and will walk this pm when my day is done.

I exercised last night but still have been making poor food choices. I need to get to the grocery store and buy some healthy food. I also need some willpower. I hope to do better this weekend. I am very disappointed with how I am doing this week, but I will definitely try harder.
 
Congratulations team!!! I have been exercising faithfully and hope to contribute to our victory next week. (How's that for positive thinking, huh?) I did a little over 3 miles today. My pace is still pretty slow, and I hope to work on that. It is still just soooo HOT here. Even at 8:30 in the morning, the heat just kind of takes your breath away. I still did it though.

Welcome Amanda. I have signed up to do the Half Marathon at WDW in January and have considered the ToT 6.5 just to see where I stand at that point and what I need to concentrate on most. I still haven't signed up and think it may be full now anyway. Sounds like fun though -- except I'm NOT a night person. I wish you luck though. Plesae keep us updated with your training. Also, if you haven't done so yet, go up to the events/competition sub-forum and introduce yourself. There are a lot of really friendly and knowledgable people over there. Good luck.
 
Good afternoonTeam.

THis I think is the worst part of the week. We all like to have fun on weekends and food is always part of it. Try to make the best choices that you can. Always keep in the back of your mind that tTuesday is our next weigh in and the other teams are going to be trying to oust our first win. YOu guys have worked hard in the first week and we need to keep focused. Me included.

I was so discouraged today that all I wanted to do is come home and eat. I had no voice for almost 6 weeks this summer. I caught a virus and it was almost gone and then I had a dental procedure and it went into a sinus infection that I fought for 4 weeks. During my annual physical I ended back on antibiotics to help clean it out. (I have had 3 sinus infections and 2 were with ear infections since March). I have been using a nose spray and a netti pot (rinses out your sinuses think of pouring water into your nose) pretty much every day since the end of AUgust. My voice came back and has been pretty good all week long (I don't think it helps that I am a high school math teacher, we can't show movies like history) then today in the middle of the day it started to go on me again and it feels slightly sore. I am drinking hot tea with honey and feeling very discouraged. It might mean a visit to a specialist. I will be taking it easy this weekend and trying to keep the talking down to a minimum.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I walked yesterday and am just getting around today to go to the park for a 4 miler. I did well yesterday with eating but not great as i should have. We've been eating chicken an veggies for about 6 weeks straight and we could stand it any longer and ended up at Logans steakhouse. Yumm. I also have to go grocery shopping today. Have a great day today.

Back in the saddle after hosting a party at my house on Saturday. I'M SO GLAD IT'S OVER! I haven't been on the elliptical since Friday, but back at in now. I had pizza tonight, but, otherwise a pretty okay weekend. I'm actually craving fruit, so I expect tomorrow to be a healthy day!
 
Good Monday Morning. I have been faithful to working out except for Sat.

Tomorrow is weigh in. PLease have your numbers to me by the end of the day on Tuesday. We need all the numbers by Tuesday night at midnight. If not they will not be in our total for the week.

There will be a new thread starting tomorrow morning so look for it.

Please make sure that you are keeping track of your weight loss. I will be getting rid of some pm's so that I have room for the new ones so last week's will be gone. I will have it on my spreadsheet but not your pm's to me.

Let's hope for another good week. I packed my lunch this morning and kept the choices very healthy. Try to do the same.

DOn't forget to check in tomorrow.
 
For weigh in tomorrow, Please give me your weight as of tomorrow. I have your starting weight so it would be easier to have your weight as of tomorrow morning.

I just wanted to let you know that my older sister Susan (larry's girl) has posted a journal in the Journal section. It is very long so I know everyone doesn't have time to read it. She is the one that first told me about DIS and I have enouraged here to get out here on WISH. She has LOTS of weight to lose (probably 200lbs) and really needs a lot of enouragement. She has many health issues that have contributed to the weight gain and make it extremely difficult to lose. I know she is extrememly discouraged because she has been battling this her entire life and I know she wants to give up. Giving up is not an option for her. Failure is not an option. She LOVES WDW and if she wants to continue to go and have a good time or even be able to function in daily life, she must succeed at losing weight. This is entirely for better health.

So...if you have time, please stop by her journal and leave an encouraging word. I know you can't all read the entire journal, but any kind words will help her out immensely.

I think she would have joined the Biggest Loser, but I barely made it before the cut-off so I know she is too late. Maybe for BL IV if there is one!

Thanks everyone for your support! I know there are many folks out here trying to lose weight and that sometimes just a "you can do it" is all it takes to keep going. So I want to say THANKS on behalf of everyone for the continued support that the WISHES out here continue to give!
